I use the McDonalds app frequently to grab a cup of coffee in the morning. I use the code at the drive thru. Then I hit the X on the page and close the app. Now every time I wake the phone (Iphone) it displays a graphic telling me to share my code at the drive thru. Eventually it goes away. It didn't use to do this and I'd really like to make it go away although in the grand scheme of things I guess it's no big deal.

In the settings for it, you should be able to set it from "always on" to "only when using it" or something like that, not the exact words but you are telling it not to run in the background all the time.

I had that happen recently after using the app which I haven't done in a long time.
The message shows up long after I picked up the order. I suppose i could have swiped it off but I just let it go as it went away on its own after a day or two.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

When you say “close the app” do you mean just exiting to your home screen? Or swiping up from the bottom and force closing the app by dragging it up to the top? Force closing usually works for stuff like this where the app keeps running in the background when you don’t want it to.
