You’ll be up and walking around right after surgery.
The Dr’s and the Physical Therapist want no scar tissue buildup. You’ll be walking and doing stretches, strength exercises asap.
Granted, small at first, but building up as fast as you can.

(Take note, no where above is it said that this is going to be a fun time, be prepared for the pain of exercising! Big Grin)

I found managing swelling was key. Day 4 hurt worst, ate 2 Oxy’s mostly to sleep. Otherwise Tylenol for 8-10 days did the trick.

Day 5 I climbed to third floor, declared my independence and left my daughters home.

Left hip for me, 50 mile trip home was ok, in and out of vehicle was interesting. Right leg might have been a different story.

Home by 1300 hours. Pain med consists of Extra Strength Tylenol.

Thanks SIGFORUM for all the positive thoughts and prayers for me and for my wife two weeks ago.

That was certainly fast. It's like same day service. Heal up carefully and get back to 100%.

Johnny the nerve block is probably still in effect and keeping you from feeling the pain yet. I'd stay on schedule for the pain meds they prescribe for at least a few days. Once the nerve block wears off it will be pretty painful. By day 5 you will be ready for dancing (almost Smile).

Glad the surgery went well and hope your recovery goes smoothly. Listen to the PT and the docs.
