Technically I’m always a Florida resident but…I can take advantage of Georgia gun laws for the foreseeable future. Finally order the Scout Squad I been wanting, Rogue said all the cool kids own one! I think it’ll pair nice with the Garands and Mini. I can replicate those awesome porch pictures!!!

I got all my transfer paperwork approved in 2 weeks, received orders on Friday, checked out in 4 hours on Tuesday and drove down after turning in my blue badge.

Buying a camper tomorrow to park on one of my Dads lots. Gonna be a toy hauler and the back room will house safes and reloading equipment instead of a four wheeler Big Grin

Talked to the finance folks at his oncologist today, every chemo session is 2-3 thousand dollars out of pocket. No says I! I’ll be getting him listed as a dependent soon since I’m taking care of him now physically and financially. No more medical bills for him.

We did some cleaning out of his storage room today, got some posts to replace in the pasture tomorrow so I can reinstall a gate to get a 30yd dumpster in next week. Been a while since I been on a tractor but it feels good. I’ll be up first thing tomorrow to get started again. Before the weekend ends I need to plow the pasture to plant winter grass. Cows are tired of hay. 6 weeks it’ll be 12 inches.

Gun season starts soon so I need to sight in the Bergara. He’s gonna hunt with his Marlin 512P, little bolt action shotgun if I remember right, but we need to get it sighted in as well.

Fun times but sad times, I gotta cock his crossbow for him every morning now. But we gonna enjoy the hell out of it.

Congrats! But are Georgia gun laws more favorable than Florida laws?

I will so no to your question, but considering I’m coming from Maryland, they are like Heaven.

Good on your move. I lived in Hiawassee for five years. All is good after you get settled as long as you aren't locating to the armpit (Atlanta). Oh, don't mention to anyone you meet there that you are originally from Florida. You will get branded a Floridiot.

Have you registered your vehicles yet. If not, Take tubes of K-Y to the tax office. The bastards tax your vehicles at a predetermined value equal to their state sales tax. One of my vehicles, a four year old F-250 Diesel cost $1700 one time charge for a tag the other a four year old Explorer was $1400.

Congrats on getting out of MD! My brother lived in NoVA and worked in MD for years, and my BIL went to school in Lanham, MD. Every time we went out there to visit I could feel my blood pressure going through the roof dealing with all the congestion just trying to get around...and I didn't even have to live there.

Getting out of that mess has to be good for one's mental health. It also sounds like you're going to have plenty to enjoy and keep you busy in GA. Enjoy it fully, and have fun with your dad!

I've been torturing Otto with photos of mine until he finally caved and ordered his own.
