Hawaii comes soon and my youngest daughter said the other day: "We can't take a vacation from God." That is so cool, so we will be going to church services in Hawaii while we are on vacation. I am sitting on the computer in my kitchen today. Some days it's the small things that make you laugh and feel good. I hear this strange pulsing sound, get up, bump the refrigerator a bit and the noise doesn't go away. I finally locate the noise, it's the TV and an episode of Cops is on with sirens blazing. I look around the room, and there is my wife sleeping to the sounds of sirens. I look around some more and the dogs are sleeping through the sirens too. The only one not sleeping this afternoon is me! For whatever reason, it struck me in a good way and I laughed. Yes, the little things in life that occasionally hit us just right. I think I'll go have some more Praise Break coffee. I am still feeling really good physically and exercising as per usual. I cannot stop eating and have gained weight. Usually I have been running 155lbs or so, but currently I am right at 163lbs. Spiritually, I am so much further along than ever before, the Oneness Pentecostal doctrine really gets it for me. At this point, my life has more meaning than it ever has and I really feel more complete than ever, which means I am as happy as I have ever been. That may sound odd given my circumstance, but there it is. That electric low voltage feeling through my body has continued unabated, and is a reminder of my renewed faith in Jesus Christ since I left my old Episcopal faith behind. This is the best thing I have ever done. Shema Israel? Nice, I had to look it up. ALT in Johnstown is really big on the Israel things in the Bible, so much more so than the Episcopal church. The Shema, is the most important declaration we can make. It is our first and last prayer, and twice during the day, morning and evening prayers. It coincides with the four corners of the earth, the four patriarchs (Abraham, Issac, Jacob and Joseph) four matriarchs, (Sarah, Rebekah, Rachel, and Leah.) and in Passover (our redemption) the four cups of wine, the four questions, the four children (wise, wicked, simple and the one who does not know to ask) the four sides of the Dreidle, the Four Species (of plant) held during Sukkot, four corners of the tallit, and more. (and I leave you with breadcrumbs, that you might follow them to your own learning.) The One God you speak of, is the same One God wee speak of, and the truths and foundation of our teachings are the "ground floor" and yours are the second story, built on top of that. The second cannot exist without the first, and the second does not negate the first. The first is enhanced by the second and the second is enhanced by the first. There is a mystery, and it will all be revealed, that is the promise. We may know know or perceive all of it, but I believe wit all I am, that one day, either in this life, or the world to come, that all will be revealed. That's enough to hold me over. Cool stuff, eh? I have quite a ways to go, having just started in a serious way. Yes, absolutely the same One God whether the Jewish faith or the Christian faith. I had to look up the words you posted because I can't read the language you posted. Shema Israel I have only recently learned about. We hear a lot from certain segments of the population that all of us who worship, worship the same God not matter what the religion, Muslim etc. Not the same God. Such pap. If I live long enough, rest assured I will not adopt the coming one world religion. it's false. Here is an article from just last week where a Catholic school removed statues of Jesus to become more inclusive of other faiths. So wrong. http://www.catholicnewsagency....oving-statues-71228/ I believe the example above is a sign of the coming one world religion. I used to be a mushy middle of the road type regarding my Christianity. Not anymore. Leaving the Episcopal church for the Pentecostal church has really opened my eyes. I do not believe that I made the conscious decision to leave, The One God did such for me. The second I stepped into ALT, I instantaneously found Him there. I have always been a supporter of Israel. SigMonkey, as usual is perfectly correct: Shema is said four times per day, when going to sleep (the "day" starts the eve before in Judaism), waking up, and then twice during prayers- absolutely correct. The Prayer of Shema is also the first full prayer taught to children (the one said at night prior to going to sleep), and is the last one said before death (if possible). Again, the first and last. It is also very much the heart of the religion, and all others. In Judaism, you are not supposed to worship idols, only God. At the same time, it is very clear that while it mentions the Lord being one, it does not say the Jewish Lord is one. Is says clearly The Lord. Judaism teaches that all religions believing in one Lord have a place in heaven, or after life. It is called the 7 laws of Noah The critical idea being as long as you keep to a set of morals and ethics, no matter what religion, you are following the ways of the Lord. Of course, being Jewish, we make it much harder on ourselves to follow, and we are "Chosen" to fight that much harder to keep what we have for a few thousand years. | |||

I have a long way to go in regards to my new denomination. I'm a rookie again. But in a good way. Once I decided there will not be exceptions and The Word is The Word, everything is changing for me. A rhetorical question: Someone tell me why my wife and 2 daughters each have to have 2 large suitcases and a carry on for a 2 week vacation? The baby things are just fine and understandable, however. We have to take 2 cars to the airport then. Logistically speaking, it feels as though I am moving an entire army across the country. It is truly a good thing I am feeling better, but still. I feel certain that half of what they will bring will not get worn. Those are the "just in case" things. I am taking one suitcase that will be a little more than half full.
