lbjAround 8PM the night of May 31st, youngest daughter called and said she thought her water may have broken.
At 10PM, she called and wanted me to take her to the hospital.
They tested the fluid and said yes, she was having the baby.
About 1AM, she got an epidural, and about 6:45AM June 1st, she began to push.
By 7:30AM, Miles was born.
The process I was very unfamiliar with and I found out I had some misconceptions.
All in all, the birthing experience was wonderful. I am glad to have been present.
That said, staying up that night caused me to have an entire body rash that is just now under control.
I have skin conditions from the meds and staying up all night, my body must have let it's defenses down.

lbjNot a good couple of days for me.
I had Expel Ultimate put on the front of the new Escape.
I store Ensures in our garage refrigerator and went to get some.
I had my arms full of them and dropped one on the concrete floor.
I didn't notice that the bottle cracked and leaked on the floor.
I slipped and went full force with my body weight and landed on the hood and grille with my face, chest and arms full of plastic bottles.
The Expel got a gouge in in it, the hood was not dented, but I hit the Ford emblem with my hand and my skin on top of my right hand peeled back to the bone.
Then after I removed a band aid from my hand this morning, the adhesive ripped an even larger portion of the skin on top of my hand.
My skin tears easily from the meds I am on.
Last night while driving my Escape, 2 doves refused to move off the road and at the last second they got up... too late, at 50MPH, bird strikes to the front bumper and feathers flying everywhere in my rear view mirror.
Gosh that makes me sick.
Doves are pretty dumb about traffic, maybe the dumbest of all birds about such.
I ran over one a month or so back. It never got up.
I am going to start using the car horn on them when I see them.
I hope it works, I hate senseless carnage.

sigmonkeySorry about the thing with the doves.
I hate it when I inadvertently demise animals.

lbjKilling things is especially repugnant to me these days.
I had to poison some voles in my yard last fall.
I feel bad about it but if I left them alive, the whole neighborhood would get them. They are pretty destructive to vegetation.
They also created trails in my yard which turned to rivers when the watering system came on or it rained.
That caused the trails to erode and became deeper with time.
I was still unhappy dispatching them though.

BisleyblackhawkI've even made peace with those alien creatures called "camel crickets"...they venture into the house from time to time and now I catch them and put them outside (to probably to return back in in a day or so).

lbjWe get crickets in the garage during summers.
I leave them alone. They are about as harmless an insect as there is, or so it would seem.
Ladybugs and doodle bugs and the like, I let them be.
I do use flypaper for flies.
Interesting fact about flypaper, it works on the theory that given sufficient time, a fly will eventually land on every object in the room. It doesn't attract them or anything, at least not the kind I buy.
