Thank you for stepping in and keeping us updated, Robbie. I know it is a difficult task, as I've done it in my family... you are a good man!
I am keeping Tom in my prayers, as are many of us here. He has been a constant inspiration for us all, demonstrating a level of Class, Determination, Compassion, Strength of Character and a strength of belief that I envy and would hope to emulate.
May the Lord smile on him, and give him peace and comfort.

Here's a quick update on Tom: The complications continue. Tom had a terrible pain in his abdomen on Saturday morning. I was there when this happened and was able to get the docs to give him pain meds (which he didn't like and has stopped taking - but at the time his pain was off the charts) and order a sonogram and CT. Turns out he has a hematoma of a muscle in his abdomen and he needed close to 5 units of blood. His BP pretty much crashed to about 62/40, or thereabouts. This caused some potential problems with his remaining kidney, as well as some bad confusion in his brain. This afternoon, however, he's resting comfortably, out of ICU, in a private room again. They're giving him something to help him sleep. As anyone knows who has been in a hospital you do NOT get sleep or hardly rest in a hospital, and I believe he is sleep deprived. The docs stopped the blood thinners yesterday and hope his hematoma heals on its own. He continues dialysis every 3 days, though they are monitoring this constantly thru blood work. Happily his heart and chest are fine. At this point the hematoma and his remaining kidney are the issues.
