My pipe dream is for the gop to have a mortal lock on senate majority and then vote that backstabbing bastard McConnell out. Kentuckians are pretty fed up with the way Beshear has crippled the state and Queen Andy wouldn't be there if Mitch didn't want him there.

Tommy won every county in the state except for three...most by a margin of appx 65% to 35% over Sessions. The fact that he won Tuscaloosa County 52/48 tells you a lot about how pissed Alabamians are with what happened during 2016-2019. It also tells you a lot about Alabamians as a whole.
Surprisingly, my county (Madison) was one of the counties that went to Sessions by 57/43; likely due to a lot of hard work and honest success that Sessions had in his former days days as a US senator bringing home a lot of US GVT dollars for defense and NASA. The old guard around here still afford him credit for that. And they should. He did a great job for our state once upon a time.
But largely, on the whole, Sessions made his bed by allowing that democratic shit show to get going and run for three freaking years and now he is sleeping in it.
Happy retirement Jeff!

Yep. Anything prior to that was just ancient history. Good riddance.
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Eh, he might've brought home the bacon, but I don't remember him doing anything all that great while he was in the Senate. Come to think of it, wasn't he kinda wishy-washy?
At any rate, he's out of the way now and may Pushing Turtle join him soon.

Should be able to. IIRC, the only reason Jones won was because his opponent was Roy Moore. Once it came out that Moore was creeping underage girls, he refused to step down and have another candidate take his place on the ballot. GOP should easily be able to take this back so long as something doesn't come out that Tuberville didn't run another Pedo State with his own Jerry Sanduski on the staff.
