Certainly not the best fast food burger, but I can enjoy ‘em. “McDonald's has unveiled a new type of currency to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Big Mac. The MacCoin, which was unveiled on Sunday by the fast food giant, will be available to customers in 14,000 participating stores in the US and can be cashed in for one free Big Mac. All you have to do to get your hands on one is buy a Big Mac - and McDonald's staff will give you a MacCoin for free. Diners can redeem the new currency for a free Big Mac starting Friday and running throughout the rest of 2018. The Thursday launch date was selected for the brass-colored coins because it would've been the 100th birthday of Jim Delligatti, a McDonald's franchisee in western Pennsylvania who invented the Big Mac…” https://dailym.ai/2uVJnMj Serious about crackers

And I haven't had (or missed) a Big Mac in probably 15 years. When I was working at McDonald's circa 1977, I remember them being $0.89. "If you’re a leader, you lead the way. Yep, it sure did. I used to eat birthday and special occasion meals at Bob's when I was a kid, and I always got the Big Boy burger. Like Para, I also remember when the Big Mac first came out, it was cheaper than the Big Boy. Still to this day, I do not mind eating a Big Mac, I maybe eat 2-3 of them per year. There is some speculation that the Big Mac was actually a copy of the "Gino Giant" which was the triple-decker burger that burger chain Gino's had BEFORE the Big Mac with virtually the same ingredients and assembly. McDonald's copied it and made it famous.

I’d love to see a comparison of a Big Mac 50 years ago to today’s version to see how much it has been downsized through the years. Fresh off the fryer Big Macs can still be tasty tho I don’t eat as many as I used to. Delusions of Adequacy |
The original Big Boy was much larger than the Mac.We spent several nights a week hanging out at the Big Boy in college. Put away many BB combos. Last time i had one it seemed to have shrunk in size quite a bit. I have my own style of humor. I call it Snarkasm.

So thin you can't taste the burger. Like so many things, everything has been reduced but sold as the real thing. Frisch's has had the Big Boy since the early 1950s. I could get a Big Boy, Fries, a coke and change for a $. Not much change, but still a deal. And I long for the original taste. They now offer a giant BB as well as a mini one. I really want to taste the biggie, but I don't have the ability or stomach one. I'm toying with the idea of ordering one and leaving what's left. I have friends who eat at Micky D's regularly. When I'm with them and the driver pulls in, I kind of groan but realize I can get a big mac, fries and a coke and probably survive until the next toilet. Sometimes its better than just going hungry. And its not cheap. Yesterday I took some of the grand kids to Frisch's. The waiter was nice and gave us a hot fudge cake to share. I got out for $30 after tip. Unhappy ammo seeker
