It's just a pic, I don't have a twitter account so I can't embed video. I looked for it on youtube but, shocker, can't find it.

At the end of the day, in many of these cities, it's time to stop saving people from themselves. If they vote in such a way that their elected officials defund the police, we should respect it and let it happen. We shouldn't send in the state police. We shouldn't send in the feds

I have felt this way for a very long time, and over a broad range of topics. If you continue to save everybody from themselves then nobody will ever learn from their mistakes.

This is exactly why we should not "bail out" blue states which are bankrupt.
Nancy Pelosi is insisting on big bail-outs for those states hit hardest by Covid-19 [read Democrat states]. It has nothing to do with Covid-19. I sure hope the Republicans in Congress don't cave to her demands.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I've wondered how some members are able to post the videos.

They absolutely did the right thing by walking away, but I would have loved to watch that guy put a phoenix right in the guy's trachea with the bat. They are typical bullies and it infuriates me watching them hurt people.

Amen to that. It's time that they face the consequences of their own stupidity. They continue to elect and support these moronic leftists and their policies so stop bailing them out!

Unfortunately, doing so punishes the 49% for what the 51% did. I don't know what the solution is, but don't think that is it.

Just a little historical perspective, this is how leaders (REAL leaders) dealt with this shit back in the day.

When Reagan was governor of CA he dealt with riots. And he dealt with them successfully. His comments at the end of the clip sound like they could be spoken today.

But how many of that 49 % you mention ever bother to actually go vote, much less actually get involved enough to call or write officials and push back on these ridiculous policies. Every election year, the numbers of people who can't be bothered to go vote is amazing. If they are that lazy, it's not up to the rest of us to look after them.

My neighbor stumbled on what is apparently a common Antifa practice when he discovered his Hilton Honors account had been taken over and used to book hotels in CA.

He called the first hotel and the person was still checked in who had used his points - but would not answer the room phone. When told about the account hacking and theft, the hotel manager refused to do anything. The local PD for the hotel's location refused to assist and told him to file a report with our local PD .

He determined the hacker was checking in to another hotel the next night and this manager was more cooperative, even assisted in coordinating with the local police to get the guy arrested when he checked in.

The hacker/thief changed all the contact info on the account - so my neighbor was able to determine through the guys social media posts that he was a member of Antifa and was staying at these hotels after attending local protests.

Living high on the hog through stolen Hilton Honors points after a hard night of mayhem.

I am a native Chicagoan and was living there in 1968. Daley was hardly a figure to be admired. Mike Royko wrote a book called BOSS which chronicles his time as mayor. Patronage, crooked deals, paybacks etc. When the pictures of bleeding newsmen hit the front pages the next day there was quite a reaction. These guys were wearing suits and had large name tags.

I think Chief Brown handled the riots yesterday VERY WELL.

Except it's never 51% and 49% that vote.

When I went to vote in the primary a couple weeks back, here in a semi-suburban/semi-rural area, the woman behind me was the 120th voter at 14:00.

My thought was "Thank you, lazy people, for letting me vote on your behalf." Many of those lazy people are in the ≤49%.

If you have no counter-proposal, then perhaps you should just sit down?

Obviously, I agree with a1abdj and whomever it was he quoted. Apparently our President agrees, because he's told the leftist-dominated states and cities, in response to requests/demands for bailouts, to go fish.

Fox News:

Over 60 Portland 911 calls go unheeded overnight as police respond to riot

… and:

Last week, Oregon State Police announced they are leaving the city following a two-week assignment to help protect a federal courthouse that's been a target of protesters.

Likely related to the new DA:

Newly elected Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt decided not to prosecute people arrested for non-violent misdemeanors. Since the protests began, over 500 people have been arrested. So far, fewer than 50 are being prosecuted, according to The Associated Press.

Now, my comment: When will the adults respond?

Don't really pay attention to Portland polly-ticks, but I'd bet those in power receive far more than 51% of the votes.

Seems the more liberal states are having more problems with violence and with gov't insolvency than more conservative states. Might there be a connection between liberal philosophies and miserable consequences? Smile

Yet I am continuing to be surprised by people I know who either fail to see the connection, or deny the connection, and believe Biden is the one to cure the problems of the nation.

I don’t care about the percentages. There’s good people here. There’s forum members living here, and it seems like some of your are advocating that we be left holding the bag on this. It’s more than just THEY here, there’s also US. I get it, we’re all pissed off about this situation, but be careful when you’re slinging that big ‘ol paintbrush around.

I’d really like to relocate the family, but that’s not in the cards for the immediate future. I vote, and I try to calmly talk logic with people as I can to do my job peddling red pills. I donate what I can to campaigns that would help us, but it often feels like a waste as they’re outright stealing elections here. What are folks like Airsoft Guy, 911 Boss, Benny06, myself and others supposed to do? Because it seems like some of you are already writing us off in a number of ways or even blaming us for somehow not resisting this hard enough and somehow deserve it. Is that what you really think?
