If the 2nd gun belonged to the news producer, he had to toss it. Not to avoid criminal charges. But to avoid being shunned and out of work, were he caught with it.

But, for all we know, he might have confessed to the cops it was his.

^^This. Closet rambo looks the type to have brought multiples.
And as to Pinkertons, who in the security biz hires a 5'11" / 145 pound guy to do security? Without that gun he's little more than a mild speed bump for most of the guys I know and hang out with. Obviously, in this altercation he got bitch slapped to the head by the victim, so he obviously hasn't a clue what the hell he's do. And as someone else already noted, Pinkertons and the news station are going to be facing huge lawsuits over this cluster.

This is the point at which somebody in the crowd should have done a mag dump on this POS and saved everyone a lot of time and money.

Il Cattivo^^ Same problem the shooter has - there's no imminent threat to justify shooting. Payback for the dead belongs to the courts.

Active shooter incident with one man down and the shooter with most of a magazine remaining (plus any reloads) is justification for deadly force, period. At least in the state of Indiana.
The shooter has shown his intent to kill an unarmed protester that was not a threat. Therefore it is reasonable to believe he may kill any other unarmed protestor.
But I agree, this one needs to go through the courts to remind everyone who is causing the real violence. The Portland shooter's "blaze of glory" 15 minutes is a distant memory now...

lkdr1989Hopefully, the Denver DA isn't going to cover for the shooter by using the overcharge defense, so that he gets acquitted.
I'm sure there will be a big civil suit against the shooter, tv station & it's parent company and Pinkerton - if indeed he was not moonlighting.

sdy https://kdvr.com/news/local/de...ce-identify-shooter/Dolloff is being held for investigation of first degree murder, but has not been charged at this time.
9NEWS said 30-year-old Dolloff was a private security guard contracted by them through Pinkerton, but when FOX31 reached out to Denver’s Department of Excise and Licensing we were told there is no one by that who is or ever has been registered as an active security guard in the city.
A spokesperson for the Department of Excise and Licensing told FOX31’s Nicole Fierro that if Dolloff was operating without a license he could face fines and possible jail time.
Denver is one of only three cities in Colorado that requires security guards to be licensed.

since we have seen so many "still" shots, there must be a clear video of what happened.

MicropterusGiven the above, there is no way 9News is getting out of this. Pinkerton's might if we wasn't really working for them at the time.

I was 6', 140 when I owned my business. I had a few smaller guys that worked for me. It's not the size that counts.

Not in all cases, but the laws of physics generally apply. And one look at that clown would confirm that any sort of hand to hand interaction would result in him being rushed to the local ER.

Admittedly, I am no expert on this law, but I question this statement. I'm familiar with an incident (Colorado) in which a individual with a vehicular felony on his record who had been hired by a local security firm not located in Denver, was encouraged to apply for and received the licensing necessary to become an armed guard and carried a firearm while on duty. Unfortunately, he was later involved in an off-duty road rage shooting and is now doing some serious time.

ETA:
after a quick check it appears that he worked in one of the other jurisdictions that requires licensing of armed guards.

ExpatThere is a buzz regarding the shooter, hired by the news station, and the escorted reporter; both reporter and security detail were acknowledged in several Twitter threads as participants and supporters of Occupy Wall Street demontrations and antifa riots.
