Gun store and food recommendations around Marietta GA
I live in southern Georgia and don’t make it to the “big city” very often.
Will be at Dobbins Air Force Base this week. Any must-see gun stores worth a visit around there? Good local places to eat? Will have some free time on Tuesday and most evenings. Will not have time to get out much further than just the local Marietta area.
Thanks for any suggestions.

I’m no local to there but my brother is. He took me to Cherokee Chophouse and it was amazing. If you want a steak one night I highly recommend it.

And if you have a Glock pistol stop by Glock Inc. and have them refurbish it.

I was thinking that too. It's 12 miles from Marietta.

Definitely. It's like a Sams Club for firearms. Place is huge.

If you are driving up, stop by Ed's in Stockbridge or Amchar down that way. Both south of the city.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Went by Adventure Outdoors today. Definitely lots of firearms. Nice selection of Sigs. Only thing that tempted me was a 40th Anniversary P226, but priced at $1199. Would rather spend that money on a real vintage 226…
Will check out Marietta Diner tomorrow evening. May be headed home early with the hurricane potentially affecting southern Georgia.

Those were solid recommendations. Stopped by Ed’s and picked up a nice new old stock Glock 21SF with threaded barrel and suppressor sights. Since I qualify for the blue label program, it was under $400. Manufactured in 2014 so I would say it’s a 3rd generation. For whatever reason they still had a few of them.

Amchar had great prices on ammo. Picked up Speer Lawman .45 ACP for $16.99 a box. And Speer 147 grain 9mm for $15 a box. Got 500 rounds of each. They also had some Colt police trade-in ARs for $850 but I’m good on those.

Was able to eat lunch at Marietta Diner before departing. Ed’s was a bit dumpy but good score on the Glock 21. Already sitting at home with a suppressor and Surefire light on it. Needed the ammo, especially the 147gr 9mm, the suppressed MP5 loves that stuff. AmChar was clean, well organized. Super nice people working there.

Thanks again everyone for the suggestions. I knew SIG Forum would come through.
