Anyone else having problems with Buds customer service? I recently bought a used Shield 9 Plus that was listed as like new with 13 rd mag. What I got was like new but with only a 10 rd mag. When I contacted Buds CS, they admitted the error but said they could only give me a store credit of $15 or I could return the gun for a full credit. They refused to send me the proper 13 rd mag even though they list it in their inventory at $34. It seems strange to me that they would spend as much on shipping it back as it would cost them out of pocket to send me a new mag. I ended up shipping the gun back to them and buying a new Shield 9 Plus from PSA here locally.

Interesting.

Business must be good if they were willing to lose a sale over a $34 magazine.

Several years ago I purchased a Sig P220. After charging my card I was told the item was out of stock. It took a month and several calls to get a credit on my card. That was the last time I did business with Bud's.

Bud's used to be a price leader and had reasonably good customer service. Back when it was a much smaller outfit, they accidentally shipped my FFL the wrong model of a gun, but made it right for me at no extra charge. They've grown a lot and I haven't shopped there in ages. I'm glad you took them up on their offer for a refund and took your business elsewhere. PSA has had some screaming deals lately. I am still kicking myself for not jumping on long barrel X-esse pistols for like 700 bucks a few months ago

Gotta save that money so they can sponsor Hickok 45. I'm not sure how much the guy makes, but I bet since they've started sponsoring him, their service has fallen. Too many other retailers (with better stock and prices) out there to worry about Buds.

I'm surprised folks still give their business to Buds.

It's been years since I bought my 357Mag Marlin lever action rifle from them. No issue at that time, but that's been my only purchase from them.

I recently bought my CZ 457 from them, mostly because it was the only place that I could find that had the model I wanted.

I have to say that the transaction was seamless with prompt shipping.

Sorry to the OP, absolutely sucks to have to deal with shoddy CS, but my recent transaction went smooth, as well. I also had a hard time finding what I wanted elsewhere so I went ahead with Bud’s, but honestly don’t recall seeing any negative comments until this thread.

I ordered four Ruger Mk II mags from them on Sunday and they'll be delivered later today. Most of the delay was from USPS and not from Buds.

So they couldn't let go of $19.00 for their mistake and decided to be done with you?

Seems it would have worked out better if they just swapped out the mag instead of blowing the whole $34.00 (Gasp!) and sending you what you ordered.

This Bud is not for you.

I tried to buy an Uberti Walker from them and the idiots demanded I gave them an FFL address to ship to. Escalating 2 levels up from the phone monkey didn't help - none of them were able to grasp the concept that legally BP replica is not a firearm and therefore can (and should) be shipped right to my front door. Yes, even in Kommifornia. No, being serialized doesn't automatically make it a firearm.

It goes without saying that I don't do business with them anymore.

I signed up for their e-mails when I found out they were supporting Hickok45, now I'm having trouble unsubscribing!

Hey, Buds! Just because you're spamming me, that doesn't mean I'm gonna spend any money with you!

Bud's was sold several years ago. Old Bud had semi-retired, and his son ran it (very well, too.) Eventually a big corporation bought them out and service and pricing went to shit. I still use their indoor range, and occasionally shop there in person. If I order a gun I use the cash option and pay at in store pickup.

As far as the black powder revolver goes-several years ago ATF reclassified at least one revolver (Ruger Old Army) as a firearm and required it be treated as such. A company had marketed a drop in cylinder that converted the gun to a 45 Colt revolver using cowboy loads. I don't know if other revolvers have been similarly classified, but it's worth investigation.

I haven’t bought from Buds in a really long time. They used to be competitive prices and their service was great. I would probably pass unless it was something priced well in the TN store and I happened upon it. Sorry to hear you went through some poor customer service but it reaffirms my choice to shop elsewhere.
