Probably something like this. I have seen many people in the public sector that absolutely should not have the job they do, but somehow they make it out of every bad situation to just be put into a different position and stay in a government job. That's an annual compounded return of 14.5% vs. S&P and Dow at 7% to 9%. Impressive but Mr. Pelosi Is a hedge operator, so who knows. Warren Buffet pulled in a 9.96 annualized return over that time as a famously conservative investor.

Hedge fund operators live out their lives with the ghoasties and ghoulies and long legged beasties and things that go bump in the night of fast and loose finance. They either get rich or famously explode.

My thought is that she is retiring because:

a) she has a terminal health condition that requires 100% of her time and effort to manage, or

b) somebody is blackmailing her to retire or else they will release evidence that will put her and her husband behind bars.

I don’t care - the big issue for me is that she is leaving.

As oddball pointed out, she held the top senior position for the Democrat party in the House for TWENTY YEARS, both as Minority leader AND as SOTH. All the bills brought forward by the Dems required her blessing before going to a vote, as SOTH she ruled the schedule on when votes were taken, the order in which they're brought up and basically the schedule for the House.
