I watched it when it was linked at Treehouse. Disturbing film.
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

^^^^ Just from watching several Shorts on YT, I agree totally. The acting, the cinematography, just atrocious.

Saw it on X Sunday or Monday by searching for it, some random account I couldn't pronounce. Watched it on my little phone with a soundbar...good enough. A little hard to watch mainly for logistics. He would have needed months if not years to set up those arrangements and probably hadn't taken over his father's business yet.

Because, as I posted in the other Citizen Vigilante thread in The Lair at https://sigforum.com/eve/forum...580032125#6580032125 , Uwe Boll isn't actually a serious writer/director... He's a tax loophole mechanism to aid rich investors in reducing their tax burdens via deliberately crappy filmmaking.
He's the cinematic equivalent of the artist who puts a squiggle on a canvas, sells it to his rich friend for $20k, who then pays his appraiser buddy another $20k to value it at $50M, and then donates it to an art gallery for a $50M tax deduction. The artist knows the squiggle isn't actually art. The rich guy knows the squiggle isn't actually art. The appraiser damn sure knows the squiggle isn't actually art. They don't care. They just want the financial benefits of the transaction.

Well he succeeded, with a banned movie. He couldn't buy that level of promotion. Add in a low cost production. The squiggle worked. This message has been edited. Last edited by: downtownv,

You missed the point. He doesn't want to earn a profit.
The tax write-off for the investors comes when the movie flops.
So they purposely make it poorly, or put it out for free, specifically so that it doesn't turn a profit.

Interesting, and given the poor quality of his films and the shitty reputation he earned, he has directed dozens of them. A baffling career...
