Wife and I generally agree on politics. She does, to my extreme displease, put on the PBS News Hour while cooking. I have to leave the room. The programing actually isn't "news" but hard left propaganda. Went on line to learn 15% of their budget is government funding. Cutting that budget out ASAP seems like a reasonable move as Trump is seeking to end waste.

Throw in NPR and we have a deal.

I have a buddy that listens to National Leftist Radio and swears they have balanced coverage. I'd be fine if that went away, permanently.

I get that we use tax money for overseas broadcasting, Radio Free XYZ, etc. but using tax dollars to push one side's message, in competition with private broadcasters, stateside? What were they thinking?

I "listen around" all the unbalanced info on Boston's two public radio stations and hear some of the other interesting stuff that they might put out over the air. I will say that PBS and NPR are definitely the MSNBC of radio. They do not deserve federal funding because of their blatant left wing portrayal. The DNC would be the proper backers of these over the air businesses.

But… we need Mr. Rogers !

Why was the .gov in this ever ? And while I do think 70’s/ 80’s era Sesame Street and mr Rogers is beneficial to kids, I have no doubt that if their shortfall is 15% of budget from the .gov rich folks will step up for the difference and bring back the .pbs auctions. I lived watching those as a kid.

PBS and NPR should be at the top of the list on the first page to get the axe.
They were once thought of as educational TV/radio and had mostly boring but occasionally interesting shows.
Now it's all left wing all the time, no matter what the subject is.

The way it works is the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) gets about $525 million every year from the federal gvmt.

This money goes to Local PBS (TV) and NPR (radio) stations and they feed some $$ back to the network as they buy content.

Some content is paid for by the National Endowment for the Humanities or Arts or whatever the heck it's called now.

So there you have it, CPB is the real target.
