This puff piece on socialism brought to you by NPR... yes, that's right... socialist radio. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

Yes, why do we still fund this BS? And if its government money, why don't they enforce the rules like any other public group and demand equal air time for all political leanings? Don't weep for the stupid, or you will be crying all day

Where else would you see something touting socialism? Public radio, dance with the one that brung ya! Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me. When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. It's not you, it's me. |
Seriously. I've been wondering why NPR is so politically slanted, especially since they get some federal funding. I used to like listening to it, but I couldn't take all the constant liberal crap.

Well... our socialist schools would be another place. As long as we accept and place our children in socialist schools, we will continue to drift toward socialism. Medicare for all? Sure, why not? Isn't health care as important as education? The drum beat rolls on... and young people aren't even taught the basics of freedom or what made the American founding unique or how destructive collectivism is in all its' formats. Entitlement mentality. Plain and simple. Everyone deserves something. healthcare, education, equal this and that, a living wage. No need to work hard, save, contribute. Let's just hand it out. Someone else will pay for it.

Socialism is the 'counter-revolution'. It represents the overturning of America as founded. It's the exact opposite of 'ordered liberty' based on individual rights and respect for private property. From the article: What You Need To Know About The Democratic Socialists Of America What DSA members believe Here's how one socialist sums up his beliefs: "I think we just need to realize that the end goal is, ultimately, like social control of the means of production," said Joe Cernelli, a founding member of that West Virginia DSA chapter. "You know we don't just want to improve capitalism, we will ultimately want to get rid of it." That's not just his idea; the DSA views capitalism as an oppressive system — "We see it as fundamentally undemocratic," as DSA National Director Maria Svart put it. Here's how she sums up what the group wants: "When it comes right down to it, we believe people need to be able to live a dignified life. I mean there are certain things that should not be left up to the market," she said. Removing some parts of the economy from the forces of the free market, for example. In other words, socialism. In the DSA's ideal economy, some sectors — like health care and utilities — would be government-controlled. Other businesses would be worker-owned, as Svart explains it. "Let's say you were negotiating at a bargaining table with workers in a bakery, and the workers said, 'Look, we want more than a quarter of the bread; we want half of the bread, or we want two-thirds of the bread,' " she said. "The socialist would say, 'Actually, we want the bakery. We want to control it all, for all of our benefit.' " ***** "Medicare for All": This a term getting thrown around among progressives these days. The basic idea is to take Medicare, which is in part free and in part subsidized for seniors, and give it to everyone else, too. "We don't want something that's a half measure," Svart explained. "We want to get private industry totally out of the system. We just want to make sure everybody's in. Everybody gets health care." "Some things are apparent.
