I was tempted some time ago. I decided I wouldn't use it often enough to justify it... and being too lazy to plug in an extension cord and use the corded one I have.

Get 12v version. I use that over my 20v dewalt 99% of the time. Daily use, they last 3+ years. Standard homeowner use I would guess 15+ years.
They go from $130 on sale to $170 list price.

sigspecopsThey’re are definitely situations where a high torgue impact wrench is needed. Years ago I had to loosen the crankshaft bolt on my wife’s Honda Accord and a long enough breaker bar wouldn’t fit. I tried 3 different wrenches before I got one with enough torgue to bust it loose.

sig77the M12 is awesome with tons of power. It has been the Christmas gift to dads and brothers the last couple years. M12 has enough power for most household tasks. I assume M18 is equally good if you need the power.

Delmag TechIts my favorite impact. It makes more power than my IR pnuematic 1/2" impact.
Still not enough for a honda crank bolt though

Large, tight and/or rusted bolts are what you use power tools
for. Good luck lubricating or heating a Honda crankshaft bolt.

Appliance BradI just got one(not this sale), haven't done anything with it yet other than charge the batteries. I use my 1/4" drive impact daily. I wanted a Balls To the Wall driver though and have put off getting one of the 18v 1/2" ones for more than a year now.
I own air impacts and a Makita corded one. I suspect I'm going to like this for rotating tires.

wishbone41As was mentioned earlier, go to CPO Outlets and check there. I have purchased quite a few Milwaukee tools from them, always a good price, sometimes free shipping, and if you've got batteries and chargers already you can save good money. One problem is you'll need a bigger bag to carry your new tools..

egregoreAs yet, no electric impact wrench can match the torque of the better air ones. I have one (Aircat 1150) that puts out 1250 ft. lbs. (reverse)
But, of course, you have to
have air.

Penetrating oil will destroy an oil seal, so yes, sometimes an impact wrench IS the right tool.

buddy357I just ordered one to help install a lift on the jeep. Thinking it will help with breaking loose some of the bolts.
