i keep a general shooting log -- not super meticulous went shooting 8 times in 2021. logged about 1,200 rds or so. i usually try to take a family member when i go -- and spend probably half that time working with that person (mostly 'non shooters...') probably 65% handgun / 25% AR / 10% shotgun my goal is to always go once per quarter, minimum basically to maintain personal proficiency (not competition / work-related) how much did you shoot ? will you shoot more or less in 2022 ?? ------------------------------------------ Proverbs 27:17 - As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.

Only a handful of times, sadly because of no primers being available. Had to guard my supply and not foolishly use it up without being able to replenish it. The year before, I shot about 5,500 rounds competing in Steel Challenge, Precision Rimfire, etc. Just acquired more primers; 2022 will see me returning to competing and shooting more.

I went shooting a half-dozen times in 2021--all in the last half of the year. Would've been two or three more times had the Wu Flu not laid me low. A couple years back a friend and I made a pact: We would get together and shoot at least once-a-month. That lasted for about three months, then life got in the way. I talked to him about restarting that pact, late last year. He agreed it would be a good idea. Maybe we should try making it a New Year's Resolution? A shooting log is a good idea. Perhaps I'll start one this year. I should also do an ammo inventory. Hmmm... "America is at that awkward stage. Not a single time. I use to average 1-2 matches a month. Price of ammo, COVID BS, and for most of 2021 I worked Saturday when most matches are held around me. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

Went shooting 2x each month with my wife. Then went to the range another couple of times with friends and another couple of times for dealer demo range events. So, give or take 28 or so. Probably shoot the same amount in 2022. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tomorrow's battle is won during today's practice.

More than 8 but less than 108! I don't keep a log, and I have my own range. I shot more in the last half of 2021 when ammo was cheaper. I remember early last year, I found a gun store with a sign in the window saying "We have Ammo" - they wanted $80 for a box of .380 ACP. I had plenty of ammo, but it's just not nearly so much fun to shoot when replacement ammo is expensive. I expect I will shoot more in 2022 if ammo prices remain somewhat reasonably priced. Hmmm, maybe I should be stocking up on ammo right now? ---------------------------------------------------- Dances with Crabgrass

In 2021 it was 95 times (sometimes with more than one gun) and fired a total of about 4100 rounds. In 2020 it was closer to 110 times and over 6800 rounds. (Yes, I maintain a detailed log of both.) Last year I spent most of six weeks during the prime summer activity time a long way from home sitting in a hospital room with my wife. Even though the care provided her was superb, I’m hoping that this coming year will be more like the better ones for us. But the question reminds me that I should take advantage of the opportunities presented. I’m fortunate, though, to have a friend who is very conscientious about various types of training, including shooting, and if the weather is close to tolerable, it’s, “What day this week?” ► 6.4/93.6 “Most men … can seldom accept the simplest and most obvious truth if it … would oblige them to admit the falsity of conclusions … which they have woven, thread by thread, into the fabrics of their lives.” — Leo Tolstoy

Used to go once a month with a group, and usually another couple of times. In 2021 only once, and that was just a few rounds to test out a new Vang Comp modified barrel. Covid closed or limited access to most of the ranges, ammo prices went through the roof, and it was just a big hassle. I currently don't have access to land to shoot on so I'm stuck with public ranges. Men fight for liberty and win it with hard knocks. Only shot 4 times this season. I just let 2 of my clubs know I won't be coming back and let someone on the list get my spot. My clubs are an hour away and recently the State refurbished a Wildlife Management area that is top notch and close by. You only need to have a hunting license to shoot for free. No handgun, but I can shoot that at my brothers who lives close by. I hated to drop my memberships, but I just don't use them as much. Living the Dream

Unfortunately, none at all. This is for several reasons. First, the nice indoor range I went to closed down suddenly and unexpectedly, and the only other one doesn't allow centerfire rifles and they make me buy their expensive ammo. There are ranges in the nearby national forest but I don't care for them. Second - and probably more importantly - I am trying to save money and aggressively pay down debt in preparation for retirement, so am on a sort of "austerity" program. I did make an exception and buy one new gun in 2021.

I did not shoot at all this year or last year. I must be in a rut because the last couple of years I haven't even read/studied or had a real interest in firearms (Besides what I read on this forum). I believe a lot of it being burnt out from the Medical Examiners Office and COVID, Ammo prices and this whole job hunt BS. So, I hope to get this chip off my shoulder and at least shoot a few times. We have a house in the county and it appears that people can shoot on their property out this way.. Heck if I shoot one time it is a step up from the last couple of years. Now hitting something will be another conundrum...

I try for at least once a month but weather in the Yoop can factor in. I ran pretty close to that for most of the year. I have cut back on rounds fired from 250 to 150 each time I shoot. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

15 times last year, around 2100 rounds total. Hoping to do the same or more this year. "Being miserable and treating other people like dirt is every New Yorker's God-given right!" - GhostBusters II "You have all the tools you need. Don't blame them. Use them." - Dan Worrall

2-3 times a month on my own, plus work. Probably gives me 150 sessions last year. That’s actual training and not teaching or shooting demos. But, I dry fired 200 sessions last year. Probably closer to 250. It’s where it’s at. As to shooting more this year. Gotta say yes. It’s 1/1 and I’ve already signed up to take 3 non work related classes. I haven’t taken a non-work related class in probably 5 years. Looking forward to it.

Fighting the good fight |
Actual live fire? Maybe a half dozen. Two qualifications, plus a few sessions that I could snatch during free time. The sad truth of being an instructor is that, while you may spend more time on the range (instructing), you won't be spending that much time at the range (shooting). In addition, with my divorce in mid-2020, I lost access to the ex-in-law's property, where I used to do most of my personal shooting. It sure was nice to just be able to drive 15 minutes out into the country and start shooting, basically whenever I wanted. But I've done my usual amount of dry firing at home. And I've done a bit of force-on-force/simunition training too. So that all counts.
