YooperSigsThink it’s time to call Cabela’s corporate offices in light of the tracking announcement.
When Cabelas stopped sending me the big yearly catalog, I stopped being a customer.

shovelheadI can do the cash purchase option but it’s going to cut way down on impulse purchases both there and other places.

I'm reading between the lines here, but I assume the OP is referring to a CC issued by Cabelas, not just using a random card to shop at their store. As I recall Cabelas had a pretty sizable customer base for that card. Some have speculated it was the main reason my Bass Pro bought them, to get that business. Not sure they can or will try to buck this decision by Visa.
At one point, my Cabelas card was a Visa. For the past couple years it has been a Mastercard.

You will be tracked like always, you bought sporting goods.
It's FFLs that have gone from miscellaneous to gun related.
Cabela's is an FFL.

Ryanp225If you've ever filled out a 4473 then you already on the list.
So go ahead and buy guns and ammo unless you've purchase all of your guns on the...
dark web.
As for calling a corporate office to complain I am of the opinion they don't give a shit.

egregoreFYI: the Cabela's/Bass Pro card is a Mastercard issued by Capital One, and has been for several years. Formerly, Cabela's owned the bank (World's Foremost, in keeping with their slogan "World's Foremost Outfitter"). I have had one since it was WFB.
I suppose a call to Bass Pro at least wouldn't hurt anything. If they become concerned that their firearms sales might suffer because Capital One is cooperating with this tracking scheme (if this is even true), who knows, maybe somebody upstairs will make something happen.
