I'm getting tired of this guy. "Pope Francis has gone after President Trump over yet another controversial immigration issue, saying if the president is 'pro-life' then he should reconsider his order to rescind DACA…" http://www.dailymail.co.uk/new...ight-Trump-DACA.html Serious about crackers.

Based on the posts here, I gather that even a large percentage of Catholics don’t pay any attention to him any more, so why should anyone else? ► 6.0/94.0 I can tell at sight a Chassepot rifle from a javelin.

No need to impeach him. He has already made himself irrelevant. Elk There has never been an occasion where a people gave up their weapons in the interest of peace that didn't end in their massacre. No he cannot. There is no procedure. Most of the articles on this topic deal with a pope that is incapacitated. That is he cannot function day to day. They all pretty much end with "nobody can remove a pope." About 600 years ago there were three popes presiding at the same time. The split was pretty much on nationalist lines. Various ruler were involved and promoted their own candidates. Short answer, no. There is no proceedeure to empeach a pope http://canonlawmadeeasy.com/20...removed-from-office/ https://www.britannica.com/event/Western-Schism “ The work of destruction is quick, easy and exhilarating; the work of creation is slow, laborious and dull.

The Pope has hundreds of years of precedent of popes involving themselves with politics. I don't think that is the rule for the Pope, even though it probably should be. And no, he can't be impeached. Before Italy became a country, it was divided unto several dukedoms. The boundaries and political arrangements of these varied from time to time with who was active and acquisitive in the field, and who was making alliances with whom. For many centuries there was a small political sovereign through central Italy known as The Papal States which was headed by the Pope in Rome who derived income, entered into treaties fielded armies, and generally exercised sovereignty, as well as religious authority in that area. Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me. When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

The problem is of course that it’s all in the eye of the beholder. I might argue that a church that enjoys tax exemptions should not offer an opinion or position on any government action such as its promoting birth control, providing abortions, etc. Just as strong an argument can be made, however, that any position regarding government activity can be justified on religious moral grounds: “Vote for Clinton because Trump is an agent of evil,” or “Restrictions on immigration are unchristian.” If that swamp were drained and there were no tax exemptions for “faith-based” businesses (churches), then they would be free to say anything they wanted without the government’s meddling in their affairs. ► 6.0/94.0 I can tell at sight a Chassepot rifle from a javelin.
