That is usually a guy thing. I would have figured she was a Bowery Boys fan.. They were never funny even as a kid.
Not the 3 Stooges.

The band. As in Iggy Pop.

good for her,
meanwhile, there have been several that took her recipe for success (shock and awe,, XXX style) and ran with it and made a killing,
seems one, (maybe others) has moved on passed it, (lady gaga) but I may be wrong,
as in pop is not really something i follow much,,

kaschiLooks like the "Material Girl" will still do anything to keep rolling in the dough, even if she said she doesn't want people to listen to her older music anymore.

0-0Still smiled when i remember how often her videos came up on european tv networks when she started and i thought she was going nowhere with that shit.
She had a good ride, would do even better if she gave it a rest now. Hope i’m not wrong this time.

Elderly people in denial,
The Iggy Pop image above kind of reinforces this, and definitely Madonna on all sorts of levels. One rock star who bucked this is Grace Slick, who retired from music in 1989 at the age of 50. I was never a fan of the Jefferson Airplane or Starship, but respect her reasons why she walked away from it all. She thought rockers (and rappers) over the age of 50 was ridiculous, that they were mostly playing music created from a perspective of a 22 year old.
She saved her money (her father was a banker) and retired to Malibu, painting and still creating. in the following years, she embraced her age, never tried to dress or look young, and this was someone who was arguably more wild and outrageous than Madonna ever was.

She was going to try to dose Nixon's tea with LSD at a White House function she got inexplicably invited to. The only reason she didn't is she got inexplicably
uninvited. I don't think you need to qualify that statement with "arguably," she was the real deal.

egregoreShe and I are only 4 days apart in age. I'm accepting mine gracefully, but then I'm not one of the biggest-selling recording artists of all time, either. Some people just can't let go of the attention.

lymanI still go see bands that were relevant when she (madonna) was a big hit, bigger than the bands I go see, but when I am in the audience of Costello, Numan, Simple Minds , English Beat (specifically Dave Wakeling) The Specials etc etc, I am with somewhat like minded ( as far as music tastes) people of a similar age, and they tend to bring kid or grandkids , and it is an enjoyable time,
last Costello show, I spoke to a woman my age or older (I am 59) who was wearing a concert T from a show I was at,, 35 yrs or more ago,
good times, and some artists are still relevant

OKCGene64 now huh?
Hmmm.
What will that twit be doing in 5 more years at the age of 69? 74?
At 70 years of age she might not be able to twerk and squat without throwing her back and hip out of joint. See her knobby knee? That's her nipple folks. Pass the eye bleach. Even the dirty old men at the old folks home might ignore her, and that's what she wants, attention.
Stick her tongue at age 75? Teeth will fall out.
When is she going to hang it up?
Sad and pathetic. No longer relevant or important, just another attention whore. She's got kids of adult age, wonder if they are embarrassed about her behavior. They should be, maybe they're not. Who gives a flip.

quil57She is to pity.
No dignity left, no self-value.
begging for attention to feel relevant.

That's a very good insight.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
