Rey HRHThat's tough. As someone else said, they bring so much joy into our lives. Takes our mind off anything else that may be happening.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

gjgalliganThe first 2 pictures look exactly like my 7 year old girl, I guess the next one might be as shot of the future.
Really sorry about your loss.
I have been thru it in the past.

Spiff_P239It’s never easy to read these threads but our animals mean so much to us that I always do. You have my sincerest condolences, sir.

P226RNSo very sorry! There is no greater pain than the loss of a furry companion. And no greater dog than a Golden IMHO. I know too well your loss. Still feeling the sting of losing mine in Feb. Beautiful photos of a sweet girl. She was well loved. Hugs.

I know that you can't see me,
but trust me I'm right here.
Although I'm up in heaven,
my love for you stays near.
So often I see you crying,
many times you call my name.
I want so much to lick your face
and ease some of your pain.
I wish that I could make you see
that Heaven indeed is real.
If you could see me run and play
how much better you would feel.
But our loving God has promised me
that when the time is right,
you'll step out of the darkness and
meet me in the light.
If it won't matter in 5 years don't give it more than 5 minutes.

ftttuToday is a new day - the first without my girl who would always lie or sit at my left side for the las 13 years. However, she will always be there in my heart.
I thank you all for your kind and comforting words. They have helped me and my family through our loss.

Sunset_VaLosing a dear friend, and companion always hurts deeply, she was beautiful, both young and old.
Its so hard seeing a loved pet age, and knowing they will be gone. May your sadness be tempered by the years of love between both of you.
I am truly sorry.

My condolences.
So true, many times when their end is getting near, I think that I won't get another, but then I go to our local shelter which can't always find homes and have to put them down after 90 or so days and I know that I can't save them all, but I can save one at a time.
I'm sorry for your loss, it's not fair that such great friends have such short lives.
Don't wait until you think your ready ... Visit a shelter today, it may not ease the pain but saving a life can be a wonderful distraction.
If you really want something you'll find a way ...
... if you don't you'll find an excuse.
I'm really not a "kid" anymore ... but I haven't grown up yet either

LtJLThe Cisco Kid and I want to remind you of the pack of joyous Sig Forum dogs at the other end of the rainbow. Tennis ball bushes, milkbone trees, critters to chase, grass to roll in; she'll be with them until you get there. Believe it.

ftttuI thank you all again for your kind words, thoughts and prayers.
I'm not on the rebound yet, but I do see a new furry friend in my family's future in a few months. Thanks again.
