We went the other way, from Sharpsburg, GA to WI back in 95. Yeah, basements uncommon down there. I remember a few different insects, chiggers & termites for starters. We were just outside Peach-tree City, sure it’s grown even more since then. The roads were smoother, no road salt is easier on vehicles. All the best with the move.

I live north of you about 60 miles. Safe in garage for 10 years with a golden rod. Not the first problem. My gun tools and benches are in the basement along with my other tools and shop. I do heat the area during the winter because I spend a lot of time there. AC in summer also. Never had a problem in either area, although I do keep any cast iron tops on the tools waxed every couple of years. Never had a problem with powder or primers there. Use good judgement and you won't have any problems. Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming…......WOW! WHAT A RIDE!

Here in North Texas the summer humidity is terrible. I've never stored ammo in the garage. I have no choice but to store tools in the garage. If I put them in the house I'd have to sacrifice a room. No one's life, liberty or property is safe while the legislature is in session.- Mark Twain
