Money really well spent

barndg00Money really well spent
In NC, you can get a lifetime Sportman's license good for big game, small game, game birds, waterfowl, fresh and saltwater fishing, including the mountain trout areas. Basically a license for anything in season. For an adult, its $716, ~$400 for youth. But if you're under 1 year when purchased, it was only $125 (just looked it up, now it's $292), and remains good even if you move out of state. Got one for my daughter, and at 11yo, with just the few times we've been fishing at the coast, its already paid for. Got mine as well, it was $650 at the time I think, and it has paid for itself easily. I don't do much big game hunting, but I get my tags each year just in case.

BassamaticNot really money spent but does a trade count?
Years ago I traded a pre-64 Winchester model 70 for a pre model 27 with a 3.5 inch barrel. Made in 1955, if memory serves.

WaterburyBobMy lifetime senior pass to all national parks for $10.
It's $80 If you get one now, and that's still a great bargain seeing that most parks charge $40 per visit.

I’ll give you $160 cash for that BHP!
That would probably be the best “money well spent” I can do!

I’m spending a ridiculous sum to add a bedroom and bathroom to our house in Michigan because my wife thinks we need it. My marriage license was not a bargain.
The best money I’ve spent was $600 to have wiring run in my attic for 8 security cameras, 4 speakers, 2 cable TV outlets, and 2 WAPs. It would have taken me at least 7 days.

TMatsI really have no desire to start the old Ford vs. Chevy vs. Ram jibing (or your favorite Japanese brand for that matter), but my 2013 Ford F150 was money well spent. It’s got 110,000 trouble-free miles on it, and has the original battery and brakes. The truck is mostly analog, but has some gee-whiz electronics as well, like Bluetooth, essentially giving this 10 year old truck Apple Car Play. Best of all, I still like the truck. It’s good looking, the driver’s seat is not broken down, and it has power to spare with the 3.5 L Ecoboost engine. With summer blend gasoline I’ll get 18.5 - 19 mpg, sometimes better.

urbanwarrior238Paid 350.00 to a workmate years..years..ago for a COLT AR-15 and a bunch of accessories. The accessories alone were worth the 350.00. Still in my gun safe.

NismoA $40 pull out sliding desk drawer that I added to my computer desk about 4 years ago. I get in and out of it dozens of times a day, and keeps everything out of sight, out of mind until you need something from it.

400mFenix LD-12 flashlight. I think I gave close to $50 for it. I’ve probably carried it every day for the last 10 years or so. I can’t imagine being without it. I have a spare just in case.

doublesharpBack around 1973 one of my derelict drinking buddies borrowed $100 from me. I knew he was a deadbeat so I got a S&W mod 36 3" rb for security. He never paid me back and I've still got the J frame.

bendableI purchased an "04" Buick LeSaber five years ago.
It just turned over to 74,000 miles on the gauge.
Two days ago a lady offered me $400.00 less than I payed for it.
I think that was a pretty great investment .
I did put tires and rear shocks on it though.
