Grandson's New Toy

2011 Road Glide Ultra, 32K miles. Given the sort of 2-up riding they do, I think it's a good fit.

Traded in the '15 FJ I sold him last year and his '02 V-Star

That's a nice toy. Not what I would expect from a young guy, but nice none the less.

He's always been older than his years. Very careful/cautious in general and on the road in particular.

I was actually surprised when he expressed an interest in motorcycles in his teens.

Difference between men and boys...

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Please tell him to be careful Mr. Paul. I’m without a motorcycle now after about 15 years having one. Too many folks on phones and driving like assholes.

I hope his FJ had a ton of miles on it, otherwise not a great deal. Eek

They did give him KBB trade-in, though I thought it was worth more. Had 24,xxx on it when I sold it to him a year ago.

I probably wouldn't have agreed to that deal, but "not my monkeys, not my circus"...

Nice,
Refreshing to see a bike that isn't a plastic fantastic for a change.

Nice bike, I'm sure he'll enjoy it.

I wasn't looking, and the timing is really bad, but an opportunity to buy one of my dream bikes popped up this past week. I had an honest conversation about it with my wife trying to work through the decision. What tipped the scales was when she pointed out that our almost 17 year-old son would want to ride it. She's absolutely right, and I'm not ready for that yet. My desire to get back on two wheels can wait a few more years.

Indeed. That cross-plane 3 engine was a monster. Most fun I ever had with my pants on.

I didn't care for the windshield and hand guards tho. Yanked them off PDQ and rode it naked.

The bike that is...

I have 2022 Mt-09 and it is a blast. I ride it year round. If the roads are not slick, I am riding.
