2012BOSS302National Wreaths Across America Day - December 14, 2019
National Wreaths Across America Day this year is December 14. This is the wreath-laying ceremony day.
You can go to their website and sponsor wreaths to be laid for veterans in locations across the US and abroad - some locations allow you to sponsor a wreath for a specific person. You can also sign up to volunteer to help lay the wreaths on that day. It is an emotional and humbling experience.

SigLawThank you for the reminder. Unfortunately we cannot do it this year. We did it last year. If you have the chance, I highly recommended participating. It is a moving experience honoring our veterans that have passed on, even if you did not know them.

mark_aWe will be participating again this year.
Of extra significance, this year is the 1 year anniversary of the passing of my best buds mom (aka, my adopted mom)
It just seems right that our families will be volunteering here in Nashville while another family volunteers at his fathers grave in Austin TX.

kg5388If you sponsor under a fundraising group for the cemetery of your choice you can purchase 2 wreaths and they will give an extra wreath to that cemetery. The fundraising group for west Tennessee veterans cemetery is tn0004. You just have to look and see if your loved ones cemetery has a group.

Yesterday we participated in the burial of an Army Corporal who had been MIA in Korea since 1950. After Trump's meeting with Kim a year or 2 ago, his was one of the remains NK returned and they were identified as a local lad. His brother and sister attended his homecoming.

ffipsThank you for sharing this.
For whatever reason, it was in my head, but never connected. I didn't realize the need was so great, my bad assumption was that it was handled.
I was able to help and hope perhaps others consider it too.
