My local grocery has 6 bottle/can return machines that run win95.

OP, I hope you know that Win10 is extended 1 more year for free, if it comes to that and you need security updates.

I have a very new DELL laptop with W11 of course. It'd giving me all sorts of trouble.

I have another laptop a HP that was W10, but it somehow added W11 by surprise. But this older W11 works fine. I don't mind it at all.

Is newer W11 different than older W11?

The new DELL is replacing a real old desktop W10 that started as way before W10. It is too huge on the desk, and the driver for my HP LJ1020 quit and I can't fix it. That printer is a work horse (or pony)
I think I need a nerd to set up this new Dell, and or fix the desktop driver. Any of you Oregon guys can do that?

The vendor of the software that Win11 broke used to be responsive, back when it was locally owned. Now they're pathetic.

I'm going to try the suggested compatibility mode first. Then I'm going to try the suggested Virtual Machine route. IF neither work, then I'll probably try a different suggestion - buy a cheap used PC with Win10 already installed on it, keep it offline, and use it only when I need the broken feature. The business software with the broken feature is via a site license, so no added cost there, and I won't use the Win10 PC for anything except that feature.

Thanks for all the replies, ideas, and advice!

We retired a Server 2000 machine this year. It ran one old piece of software we used.

I really liked XP. We have 3 Win 10 machines that can't be upgraded. All running the extended updates now but I know we are on borrowed time.
