A panel of CNN political reporters were stunned into stony silence after their Republican pundit spelled out why ordinary Americans voted for Donald Trump.

Scott Jennings, 47, has been praised for telling the 'absolute unadulterated truth' by describing the election result as 'revenge of the regular old working-class American' who feels like they have been demonized by the Left as 'garbage' and 'Nazis'.

Viewers were quick to point out the 'look of horror on the other commenters faces', including flagship CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, as they wordlessly stared at Jennings while his words hit home.

Americans online praised the Kentucky-born pundit's two-minute speech as 'the greatest post-election analysis ever' for perfectly capturing how they had felt 'straw-manned' and 'gaslit' by the Democrats.

It comes as Trump regained the White House on Wednesday after being declared the winner of the 2024 U.S. presidential election at around 5.30am.

'I'm interpreting the results tonight as revenge of just the regular old working-class American, the anonymous American who has been crushed, insulted, condescended to,' Jennings said.

'They're not garbage, they're not Nazis. They're just regular people who get up and go to work every day and are trying to make a better life for their kids, and they feel like they have been told to just shut up when they have complained about the things that are hurting them in their own lives.'

Jennings summed up Trump's victory as a 'mandate' to 'get the economy working again for regular working-class Americans, fix immigration, try to get crime under control, try to reduce the chaos in the world'.

He also blasted political pundits for thinking 'gimmicks' like 'Tim Walz and the camo hats' would win the election while 'ignoring the fundamentals' like 'inflation' and 'people feeling like they were barely able to tread water at best'.

'For all of us who cover elections, we have to figure out how to understand, talk to and listen to the half of the country that rose up tonight and said: We've had enough,' Jennings said.

Viewers said they were 'shocked' to see someone tell 'the absolute unadulterated truth' on CNN. 'I honestly didn't think it was possible,' one person commented.

'Hearing Scott Jennings speak without being yelled at and, interrupted feels weird. Right?' another person agreed.

One viewer described his summary of how ordinary Americans had voted as 'exactly right'. 'Quit straw-manning and gaslighting us!' she wrote.

'We ARE not stupid, racist, xenophobic, or bigots! We ARE hard-working, family-first, God-followers, peace-lovers who want the best for our families, our neighbors, our country, and then the world! Don't lie to us and dismiss us!'

'This election should serve as a wakeup call to DC Elites, Hollywood elites and Media activists,' another person said.

Trump became the first president in over 130 years – and only the second in history – to win a non-consecutive second term on Wednesday.

-skipped some dialogue-

'This is a mandate. He's won the national popular vote for the Republicans for the first time since 2004. This is a big deal.

'This isn't backing into the office. This is a mandate to do what you said you were going to do: get the economy working again for regular working-class Americans, fix immigration, try to get crime under control, try to reduce the chaos in the world.

'This is a mandate from the American people to do that. I'm interpreting the results tonight as revenge of just the regular old working-class American, the anonymous American who has been crushed, insulted, condescended to.

'They're not garbage, they're not Nazis. They're just regular people who get up and go to work every day and are trying to make a better life for their kids, and they feel like they have been told to just shut up when they have complained about the things that are hurting them in their own lives.

'I also feel like this electoin is something of an indictment on the political information complex. The story that was portrayed was not true.

'We were told Puerto Rico was going to change the elections; Liz Cheney; Nikki Haley voters; women lying to their husbands. Before that, it was Tim Walz and the camo hats.

'Night after night after night, we were told all these things and gimmicks were going to somehow push Harris over the line.

'And we were just ignoring the fundamentals: inflation, people feeling like they were barely able to tread water at best. That was the fundamentals of the election.

'I think both parties should always look at the results of an election and figure out what went right and what went wrong.

'But for all of us who cover elections, we have to figure out how to understand, talk to and listen to the half of the country that rose up tonight and said: We've had enough.'

If they were journalists rather than activists, they would keep their emotions in check and not be stunned into silence by an election. A major assassination of a President, or a sneak-attack on our soil? Sure, be stunned and show it. Your preferred candidate didn't win? Keep a straight face and report it.

If they were journalists rather than activists.

I know we like to throw out silly names like Tucker Carlson or Alex Jones for Press Secretary, but in all seriousness, a man like Scott Jennings would make a perfect Press Secretary for President Trump. The way he calmly dresses down these commies day in and day out is just oh so satisfying. And he is never rattled. Dude is excellent at what he does and has clashed repeatedly with the worst of the worst, all with a little smirk on his face as if he's there having fun.

Or he could bring back Kayleigh McEnany who was a rock star in that position. Though I think she's enjoying her gig at FNC right now.

Already discussed in the Trump thread. Do we really need a separate thread just for this?

In all fairness, that thread has grown 25 pages today and it’s hard to keep track.

Fair point. But, it could have just easily been posted in that thread as a new article. Wink Just a thought.

I think President Trump needs to carefully rethink if he wants to have regular meeting press corps briefings or if he should scale back the briefings to one or two trusted outlets and just issue written statements.

His press secretary will be a very important and key choice for Trump.

me neither. The View thread is no different, should that be in the Trump thread as well? These are sworn enemies of the right and why not report when they get their asses handed to them. Just brightens our day with the highlight.

In ordinary times, I'd agree with you. Unfortunately, as the Chinese curse says, we live in "interesting times". Trump, Musk, and Ron Paul have been discussing some drastic changes to the government in order to rein in the massive overspending. In order to bring that to fruition he's going to need the GOP in the House and Senate to get on board. Only way that's going to happen is Trump can shine the light on the stupidity of a lot of the current spending. He's going to have to use the bully pulpit to make a lot of budget items so onerous that they wouldn't dare vote in favor of it if they want to keep their seats. Relate it back to his campaign where he got to meet garbage truck drivers and McDonalds employees. Ask why they should be working to pay taxes in order to fund an office staff of government employees drawing 6 figure salaries to sit around and think up how to print out brochures to teach 7 year olds how to ask their parents for a sex change. Just eliminating a lot of stupid shit our government wastes money on would be a good start.

If he gets saddled with any like Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnel, we all know the results. I hope we get some of our superstars leading the senate and the house. I am not convinced Mike Johnson is the strong leader we need. Hate the drunk, but pelosi ran a tight ship and her members would walk into the sea for her. We need that kind of people for all the pieces to fall into place.

downtownnv - I mean he needs to bypass the mainstream media and go directly to the people - face to face broadcast - one or two minutes, Tell us what he's going to do and then just do it.

no more Jim Acosta or morons from the three and five-letter media outlets asking inane questions about irrelevant trivia....

it would be grand if Elon bought CNN and turned it into TNN (Trump Network News)

I disagree. Thinking back, one of the highlights of the Trump 45 administration was the press briefings with Sarah Huckabee Saunders, and even more with Kayleigh McEnany. The current Trump campaign press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, has been an outstanding spokesbabe for Trump and should get the job.

Trump can continue to communicate with the public on X or Truth Social, preferably both. Unfortunately for Trump, his financial interest in Truth Social conflicts directly with his close cooperation with Musk.

Or he could call it MNN (Mars/Musk) for news that is out of this world.
