Legend and founder of the Tracker School, Tom Brown Jr. passed away the morning of August 16, 2024. Those that enjoyed bushcrafting, nature and survival probably know who he was.

Though I never met or knew him, it is perhaps fitting that a friend of mine, a graduate of the Tracker School, and I had already planned on doing some bushcrafting this past Saturday. My friend emailed me Sunday morning about Tom's passing. The coincidence brings a little more meaning to the time we spent in the woods this past weekend.

His books are a great learning tool. We didn't have these available when I grew up.

As I remember, he had an Indian relative in NJ that taught him the skills.
