Black92LXUS made non-marring 6 point 17mm 1/2 drive deep well socket
Need a new socket. Just one so don’t mind spending a bit more for American made unless the cost is just ridiculous.

RogueJSK https://www.amazon.com/William...Socket/dp/B00HQBWWQ6Not 100% sure if this one is Made in USA, but Williams is Snap On's less expensive industrial/workhorse sub-brand, and most of their stuff is made here.

c1steveThat Williams socket looks good. It has flank drive, which is non-marring. It is a chrome socket, not an impact, if that matters.

That is a possibility. This won’t be used on an impact.
Just a breaker bar and torque wrench.

Couldn’t find usa, eu or Japan made. Settled on this from dewalt.
DEWALT Deep Impact Socket Set, 7-Piece, 1/2" Drive Metric (DWMT74737)
https://a.co/d/bc8eZolSingle socket was expensive; set is more cost effective for current and future cars.
I looked at coated but sounded like the coating doesn’t last well and I didn’t really need it (I don’t care if the wheel gets a little scratched).

220-9erIf it's not urgent, have a look on eBay for a single Snap-on socket.

BlackTalonJHPI don't think you'll find US. But if you're like me, Japanese tools are more than adequate. I use 19mm but here you go.

the Williams socket linked at the top of this thread is OUTSTANDING quality, either one made in Taiwan or USA, both are outstanding quality and you CANNOT beat the price for said quality. Regarding nylon wrap, I don't think you will need that if you're doing everything by hand as opposed to an impact wrench, unless you have a really soft and very expensive wheel or car. But if you really want a nylon wrapped socket, you can get any cheap one, every non-usa manufacturer makes them, but I'm not so sure if Snap on, Matco, or any other USA Truck Brands make nylon wrap sockets. But if it's just for your own car, you could get by with the one you displayed above, CTA is a reputable non-truck quality brand. So it looks like you're gtg right there. BTW, IF you DO find a truck brand socket that is nylon wrapped, it's probably rebranded, meaning you'll pay 400% the price of the original manufacturer. Like Lang tools as an example. Snap on rebrands TONS of Lang tools for outrageous prices compared to buying the OEM Lang tools themselves. So be careful along those lines in terms of looking for the best nylon wrapped socket.

egregoreI have a set of these sockets, made by Steelman. I think they are Taiwan-made, but I've never broken one, even with an impact. Unfortunately, the plastic sleeve adds thickness, so much so that often they won't even go in the hole. My most-used ones have the sleeve removed.

GreymannMy grandson bought a set, made in Taiwan I think. The plastic sleeve makes the socket diameter to large to fit his rims. Ended up taping socket with some white duct tape.
Mac tools sells some, but I think they're made in Taiwan.
