Suggestions on large gun safe Login/Join

Well. It’s time to move.

Currently have a liberty 30 gun safe that has served me well for 2 years.

I am going to sell it locally and want to purchase something bigger.

Would like an electronic keypad as it makes it so much easier to get into.

Need capacity for 30/40 long guns and various pistols.

Suggestions appreciated.

I just ordered a Liberty Lincoln 40, can't go wrong with Liberty. There is a 50 if you need larger.

If you're yong or plan on additing to your collection, double your existing capacity. I'm just talking out my butt, but I bought more safe than I thought I'd need, and it still wasn't enough. Don't make that mistake twice ! And I stopped collecting a while ago.

I'm a fan of the AMSEC BF line. At a safe store, I saw cutouts of the AMSEC BF side by side with Rhino and a much more expensive Fort Knox. AMSEC did a better job integrating the fire protection with the security and didn't have the surprising fire protection gaps their competitors did. Their BF7240 (72"H x 40" W) or BF 7250 would be a great choice.

They have also added an increased security version called the BFII.

I have both the AMSEC described above and a FT Knox. I believe the AMSEC is the better choice both in fire protection and price. The one big value is the lifetime warranty and fantastic customer service on FT Knox. I had a problem with the electronic lock which they sent me a new lock and spent 30 minutes on the phone coaching me on the install.

Tractor Supply is running a sale on a Cannon safe that they say can store up to 64 long guns for $900.

I’d consider keeping the one and getting a second. Damn things are hard enough to move in medium size.

Electronic keypads are easy to use but prone to breakage. S&G combo jewelers lock is my recommendation. You can lock the dial in place with a key.

any reason not to keep the old safe ?
and get the same size safe .

one for all the pistols another for the long guns?

make it hard on the bad guys ,
instead of 35 minutes to get all the guns
it may take 70 minutes.

I appreciate all the responses.

I have also been looking at Fort Knox, might give them a call tomorrow. Looking at the suggestions in the thread as well.

Moving this safe is going to cost a bunch sand will just be a pain in the ass, although your comment as me thinking about it. One for long guns and one for pistols....

I will say the safe is just the last line of defense, cameras, motion sensors etc, all just as important.

If you're in the habit of moving a lot..

https://www.snapsafe.com/modular-safes/

I personally have two of the super titan double doors.
I've never had anyone try to break into them but they seem just as sturdy as a normal safe.
I got them because I currently rent.
So I KNOW that someday I'll be moving.
With these.. I'll be able to just disassemble and take them with me.

I did look at those. I do not think I will be moving for a bit after this.

Going on ten years with my Amsec BF7240. Got one larger than I was planning on and then filled it up. Been very happy with the performance and value.

A few years back I was in the same boat.

I bought a Liberty Lincoln 40.
- Made in USA
- Local dealer
- 90 Minute fire rating
- Premium features build quality etc..

I went with the rule of thumb to always buy one bigger than you need. So I got the Lincoln 40.

In hindsight, I would be happier if I would have gotten the Lincoln 25 slightly in order to be able to move it. Also so it wasn't a huge beast taking up so much room and not very concealable. Even within the room where I have it stored.

I agree and if you'll have movers let them move your current safe for you.
I have a smallish Fort Knox Defender for my limited long gun collection and picked up a large old Mosler safe with drawers from a jewelry store that went out of business for my larger handgun collection.
