$109.99 Delivered!

I found these DriveAssist 51's refurbished and decided to try one. It arrived in 3 days and looks like it was never used, just returned.

Gettum while you can!

I thought my DriveAssist50 that is 4 years old had finally failed, turns out it didn't like the new memory chip and a factory reset did the trick. Now I have two.

I’m running a 5 year old Nuvicam that does a good job. In spite of having build-in gps in 2 of my vehicles, I still like a full featured gps. I’m tempted to sell my unit for a new model.

The DriveAssist models 50 and 51 that SC refers to, have three major functions:
  1. GPS, with traffic and lifetime free map updates,

  2. Dash camera, and

  3. Display screen for the Garmin BC-30 back-up camera, sold separatey, if your vehicle does not have a rear-view camera built in.
I bought a pair of these, one for me and one for my wife, a couple of years ago. Paid right around $102.50 for them.

Right after I bought them, Mercedes Girl ran a red light and slammed into the side of my truck. She lied to the accident investigato cop, told him that I was the one who ran the red light.

I showed the video from the dash cam to the cop, he wrote her up, and Flo from Progressive (Mercedes Girl's insurance carrier) paid in full, no argument, when I gave Flo a copy of the video.

Thanks for the heads up Mars. I have a 51 in my work truck but picked up another one for my personal truck.

Ditto - thanks for the heads up. My old (non Garmin) unit crapped out but I've had a really short commute for a while and never replaced it, but now I'll be having a long commute weekly until our house sells.

They come with a 4 gig card, pick up a 32 gig card to get three days worth of video.

Well, I have been looking at getting a new GPS, as my old one was/is out of date and it was going to cost almost what a refurbished one cost, plus I have been looking at dashcam. So it looks like I killed two birds with one stone and got a great deal.

Thanks for the heads up!

My experience with Garmin and MicroSD cards shows that Garmin Dashcams eat these SD cards. I've gone to buying more expensive, high endurance cards like the Transcend card. A 32 is $20 but they seem to hold up a little longer.
