Long story short, my FIL has terminal cancer and has, at best guess, a few months left. He has asked me to sell the Starcraft Centennial he bought new about 9 years ago and I know less than zero about anything RV related. The trailer has been used 5 times in 9 years and I went over last Sunday and opened it up. The good news is the interior is spotless and the canvas/windows/screens are all immaculate. The two main items of concern is it was a royal bitch to crank up so I assume I need to lube that system somehow and the tires are original and have baked in the AZ sun so those are getting replaced as I dont want someone towing it away and losing a tire on the way home. My main questions are: 1) How do I lube the lift system and what the best lube to use? 2) Where are safe jacking point on a trailer, I assume frame cross member closest to axle? 3) Anything else I should look at/for beyond the obvious? FYI - I do not think the head has ever been used nor has the AC

Quick google returned this little forum bit on lubrication: http://www.popupexplorer.com/f...ex.php?topic=84867.0 The Enemy's gate is down.

Hope it helps. Been many years since I've been in/around a pop-up. But I recall our little Dutchmen wasn't overly difficult for my 12yr old self to crank up. The Enemy's gate is down.

I am sure it will, the last time I/we used this was 5 years ago and it was pretty easy if i recall. My FIL bought this with the best of intentions but he never used it like he thought and my wife and I prefer tents of the headache of having to tow and part the damn thing.

Don't know a whole lot about pop ups, but will offer this as to other concerns: 1. Since you are replacing the tires, check the hubs and make sure they are greased and in good shape. 2. If it has a battery, see how old, and what shape it is in. May need to be replaced. 3. If there is propane hookups, I would make sure all your appliances work correctly, and with no leaks (use a spray bottle with soapy water to check suspect areas). 4. Check the water and sewer lines, make sure there are no leaks and things run the way they are supposed to (ie, water pump, etc). 5. If it has shore power hookups, make sure those work, or if a generator, make sure that is up and running. 6. Make sure all the trailer wiring and lights work and are wired correctly. Again, not real familiar with pop ups, and this one may not even have some of those systems, but just a few things off the top of my head. Good luck . Mike You can run, but you cannot hide. If you won't stand behind our troops, feel free to stand in front of them.

Check the wheel bearings...jack up each side and make sure there's no play there. If it's been 9 years since they were last serviced, they probably need repacked.
