Any members here of the Memphis Sport Shooting Association?

My daughter and son-in-law live in Arlington, TN. She's Navy (reserves) and he's active duty at Millington. My wife and I will be down there this weekend to visit.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

The shooting gallery along Beale St.? Smile

I thought the USN shut down Millington a decade or more ago?

A base realignment commission from 1993 completely changed the base objectives. In 1998, it was renamed to what it is today....

There are over 30 commands located in NSA Mid-South. Some of the most important ones include the Personnel Research, Studies and Technology, the Personnel Command, the Manpower Analysis Center or the Recruiting Command. Although the place is run by the US Navy, the US Army also has a few units in there, such as the Corps of Engineers Finance Center.

My daughter's school trap team shoots their matches there. Was just there weekend before last. She's allowed there to shoot, but I'm not sure if we are members or not. It's a 45 min run, so we don't go much if not indicated.

Thanks, slabsides. Would have loved to see her shoot!

Too costly, at least for now. $800 first year, $300 after that. Must be a member of the NRA. They have a "3 strike" rule for guests, I'm told - you're allowed 3 visits as a guest and then you're no longer welcome as a guest.

They do host local F Class matches, though, so you are allowed to use their facilities if you're competing.

At least for a little while, I was a member of DRPA. Same travel time for me as MSSA, but a little better than quarter of the cost first year and half after that.

Where is DRPA? I'm in Cordova.

I'm a member but haven't been out there much this last year. I agree, it's pricey but it's a clean and very well kept and monitored range. The information at your link pretty well covers everything they offer. It's great if you shoot on a regular basis or belong to a group that meets out there for informal get togethers.
