Longhorns accused of cutting A/C to LSU locker room.
When asked about his players being accused of faking heat cramps in order to slow UT momentum during a Longhorn drive, the LSU coach implied that the lack of A/C in the locker room didn’t help. He said that he called the prior week’s UT oppenent, La. Tech and asked what he should be aware of. Tech told him that UT had shut off the A/C to their locker room.

LSU said they brought some “blowers” to move air just in case. Sure enough, the A/C was shut off to the visitor’s locker room they said.

Texas weather has been in the 100 range.

UT issued a denial later.

So who’s lying? Guess UT pissed about loss.

This is so stupid. Are we seriously supposed to believe that one phone call couldn't have corrected this issue immediately? Texas just spent $7M renovating the locker room facilities. The A.C. is not broken. If it was off, that should have been easy to determine and fix. BTW, the heat index in Baton Rouge was higher at game time than it was in Austin yet one team somehow wasn't acclimated to the heat Roll Eyes

LSU, the better team on this day, won - fact

Both defenses sucked - fact

The rest is just stupid noise.

There's a reason why a pool needs to be within a certain temp range; teams have been known to raise the temp of their pool, acclimate to the warmer water, and gain an unfair advantage over their opponents. This is the same concept, only in reverse.

Of course, rubbin's racin' and if it's not against the rules... Big Grin

Not sure about the AC, but word has it LSU band got nosebleed seats in Austin. LSU will be returning the favor when the Longhorns play in Baton Rouge next year.

Don't underestimate the low blows that can come out of Austin.

Or the lies out of LSU -- remember the comments after the 7OT game.

Screw both of them.

Home teams used to monkey fuck around with the opposing team's communications too. Then, they put the rule in place that if the visitors headsets went out the home team had to take off theirs.

I bet a locker room HVAC regulation would fix it PDQ if the hometeam (e.g. UT's prima donnas) had to go without AC too.

It wasn’t hot pink. It was a very soft and relaxing pink and it just wasn’t the lockers, it was the wall, toilets, everything was pink.

Visiting teams locker rooms have always been...less than stellar. The locker rooms at Cal's (Berkeley) Memorial Stadium, prior to the renovation, was quite literally 500 sq ft, three toilets and four showers. With the players all suited up, many of them had to linger right out side the door way before heading out to the field, but not before taking three flights of stairs.

Im sure UT updated the visiting locker room, and installed AC...doesn't mean the AC flowed correctly Cool

Are you aware that A&M and UT are no longer in the same conference? Kind of hard to have a rivalry when you don't play each other anymore. Roll Eyes
