I am referring to boxes you received in the mail containing such things as a computer, television, or perhaps a large air purifier.

However long it takes to get to the dumpster across the street. I have a little house. With tiny closets.

I kept the box the TV came in cause I have moved 25 times and I know that specific box is the right way to ship the TV.

Keep a few small boxes for shipping.

Other boxes become target backers.

I do keep pistol boxes forever.

I keep an assortment of small and medium sized boxes as I ship stuff fairly often.

Everything else gets cut up immediamente and goes out with the trash.

I toss them right away, I don’t really have the space and I’m allergic to clutter.

As soon as I verify the item works properly, out goes the box.

Same here, other than boxes my guns came in.

I do utilize the cardboard boxes by cutting them into flat panels for using under vehicles when changing oil, under motorcycle rear wheel and between the wheel and sprocket when spraying the chains, etc. Once a panel gets soaked it gets cut into strips for fire starter.

No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

I break them down and store bundled up in the garage until I’m happy with the bundled inventory. After that, I trash ‘em.

I used to keep electronics boxes in case I needed to return the item or move. Now they go to recycling after a few weeks if the item works. I don’t have the room to store boxes.

+1.
Is it a Nice box? I reuse some. Others I should get rid of…

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Not all boxes are created equal. Some are to sturdy to through away, others barely make it to your door.

So for me, it depends. Often with a nice strong one, I’ll save. I may even cut the sides down to bring it down some.

I used to keep a lot of them until warranty expired. Now, I give it a week to make sure the item is working and toss it. Exceptions are Apple electronics and gun boxes. I've sold old phones and sent laptops in for factory service, so I think those are worth keeping. Gun buyers like the boxes.
