Every year I participate in a sporting clays shoot that raises funds for ACE Mentoring (mentoring HS age kids on architecture, construction and engineering). This year my company sponsored two teams from our office. Today I used my new to me Remington 1100 I bought last month and shot 54/72. Not too bad for a once a year clays shooter (and I didn't embarass the company!). I really should shoot clays more often, it's such fun!

Another great part of today was that we had two young women from the office participate. Relatively new shooters and they did well. At the dinner they were talking about joining a gun club and shooting regularly. That made my day!

Sounds like a lot of fun and you got some new shooters started. Start a goal of shooting at least quarterly and then maybe more often. And my opinion is worth what you paid for it!

If I had enough land, time and money, I’d shoot clays nearly every day. I can’t get enough of it. I just wish there were more places to shoot. The nearest sporting clays range to me is an hour away, through miserable traffic.
Hope you get to shoot more, it’s addictive.
