How can I text from a computer'?
Just as the subject line said. I have a photo on my laptop I want to send to my GD. I sent it to my son/her father, but he claims to have not received it. Either he trapped it in a filter, or just didn't bother to open it. 11 YO grand daughter needs to see the pix I stole from the photo thread here. The one with the piglet and ice cream.

Might be easier to send it to your own cell phone first, and then pass it on to her.

You need to know the carrier. I have processes send texts to employees all the time. You send an email to <phone number>@<carrier>

Email it to yourself. Open phone, get photo from email, text it.

That’s the one convenient thing about the iPhone, and Apple devices. Save it to photos from computer, and it’s in photos in all other Apple devices.

You can do that with any computer/phone via DropBox.

If you're on a Mac, you just go into Contacts. Click on the person you want to send the pic to. Click "message" to start a new message. Then from the top main menu bar, choose Buddies, then Send File. Navigate to where you have the pic stored, select and send.

Find out what their carrier or service provider is and then from your email follow this for the TO email address:

Windows 10 has it built in ~ you just need to run the setup program to have it sync.
You can do the same thing with Google Messaging too.

Does it not work to just paste it into an e-mail and send it to them? I thought smart phones could read e-mail. (I don't have one.)

It will also depends what quality photo you want to send / receive.

Often times text / email will reduce the overall photo resolution, where as Apple sharing / Airdrop or Dropbox / file sharing apps will keep the resolution at the original level.

Same thing with Google Photos. If you have the pics on your phone automatically synch with Photos, you can send them from there as well, You can also text or email a link to the pic(s) if you want to be efficient with space.

easiest way to find yours is to text a message from your phone to your email. then you can just reply with the photo

I used to use vtext.com for this, but it hasn't worked for some time, and when I called verizon they said they now charged for the service.

I set up google voice on my computer, and I can text to and from it, but that's likely more than you want to do.

The OP stated that the message may have been blocked by email filters.
Text messages wouldn't use those filters.
