Whoever this guy is they better fire his ass immediately for truth telling. I really hope they do, I don't want the Dems to read this at all. Dear 20+ candidates, please disregard, some Russian hacked CNN, don't worry, they will be back to affirming your failing policy shortly, sorry for the interruption of Democrats keep picking the losing side By Scott Jennings CNN Many conservatives cheered as President Donald Trump pursued adding a question about American citizenship back into the Census forms that will be delivered nationwide next year. It seems common sense that a nation would want to know how many citizens it has, after all. Polling backed up that sentiment. Sixty percent of Americans, including "a majority of voters from all demographics" and a plurality of Democrats (49%), backed the president's position in a Hill-HarrisX national survey. A second survey — this one by YouGov in conjunction with The Economist — found 53 percent of Americans wanted the question asked versus just 32 percent who didn't. Democrats raged against the question, claiming it would deter people from filling out the form. What people? Presumably those living in the United States illegally. While Trump's ultimately backing down on adding the question disappointed many conservatives, the political optics were clear: Trump had yet again baited the Democrats into taking the wrong side of a hot button issue. Trump's message is that he believes the American president should fight for American citizens, and all Democrats want to do is fight for illegal immigrants. Add the census question to a long list of examples Trump will use to bludgeon his opponent on immigration in 2020. Each time a Democratic presidential candidate or leading member of Congress calls for decriminalizing illegal border crossings, providing free health care plans for illegal immigrants, removing existing border barriers, or eliminating ICE and DHS — agencies that enforce our immigration laws — they further entrench themselves on the wrong side of a larger political and cultural issue that continues to drive widespread voter intensity. Apart from immigration-related matters, I continue to scratch my head over Democrats going all-in on other issues wherein public opinion is squarely against them. Take the busing matter, for instance. While Kamala Harris received widespread plaudits for hammering Joe Biden in the first debate, public opinion on federally mandated busing is clear — most people really hated it. I suppose that's why Harris backtracked on the federal mandates after her debate performance — someone explained to her just how unpopular her position would be in a general election. Joe Biden is doing the same thing on taxes, running around promising to fully repeal the Trump/GOP tax cuts, which by all accounts cut taxes for nearly all Americans who pay federal income tax. The Trump campaign will do the math on this next year and explain to every voter the precise size of the increase they can expect in the next Democratic administration, leaving Biden to explain that he needs more revenue to pay for free college, free illegal immigrant health care, free abortions, etc. Even free college and college debt retirement was viewed with skepticism by voters in the most recent Quinnipiac national poll. Typically, in political campaigns, you try to take more positions that the public prefers than not. But in this Democratic primary for president the candidates seem to be doing the opposite. It reminds me of this campy karate spoof movie I saw in which one of the characters had been "purposely trained wrong as a joke." After losing a fight, the character, Wimp Lo, defiantly exclaimed "I am bleeding, making me the victor!" It seems to me that the extreme left flank of the Democratic party is purposely training their candidates wrong. But it is no joke — staying on this path could cost them another presidential election. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

The idea an author was relaying some real-world facts in an op-ed shouldn't be remarkable, in this case it was. <>< America, Land of the Free - because of the Brave

While the author is absolutely correct, this has the feel of a guest contributor "op-ed," not that of CNN staff. Like Fox has "token" liberals (either on-staff like Juan Williams or guest contributors like Richard Fowler), CNN probably has "token" conservatives. Sometimes we see this from publications we love to hate like the New York Times and Washington Post.

Wait, what? |
Numbers don’t lie. Americans (actual Americans that is) don’t want an invasion and have no problem with the citizenship question on the census form. The more the left pushes against America, the more they alienate. Keep up the good work, morons. “Remember to get vaccinated or a vaccinated person might get sick from a virus they got vaccinated against because you’re not vaccinated.” - author unknown

Well I hope no one tells the D's. I want them to stick with open borders, free shit for everyone/everything, and 73 genders. Anyone not dressed up as ANTIFA smashing in people's heads in the name of tolerance doesn't want any of this crap. I hope Pelosi can't find a way to wrangle this Hurd of cats. Consider....The liberal talking heads on TV keep talking about the DEM primary candidates running to the left for now, but then their nominee moving to the middle in the general election. Given the current state of things in this country, I just don't see how that can happen. If their candidate moves away from the open borders, free everything, global warning agenda, the AOC and Omar side of the current party will scream, rant, and viciously attack them. And if they do try and move to the center, a huge majority of the independent vote won't buy what they're selling given their huge foray into socialism in the primary, and as a result either vote Repub or stay home. I truly believe this garbage has painted themselves into a corner from which there is no escape this time. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. I assume they have a strategy for walking back the extreme positions while somehow still making them stick to broaden their appeal. It sounds like an impossible task, but it likely has been focus group tested as successful. They know their base is gullible and salivates at the mere mention of their hot button issues, no matter the impossibility of it ever happening. Just the fact some whacko impractical, hair brained socialist or communist, freedom robbing, bankrupting scheme is mentioned and never retracted is enough for the Utopian dupes. Even if competing and incongruous more moderate platform issues are later proposed by the same candidate. The foolish Utopian dupes won't even notice the later moderate proposal can't exist and is in opposition to the original impossible one.

I'm guessing Democrats are confident their allies in the media will help them steer back to the center after their convention. The Democrats get to make all kinds of crazy statements and our 'media' will certainly not hold them accountable when they say the opposite during the general election.

But you hit specifically on my point. With the AOC's, Omar's, Talib's, Pressley's, and others attacking other Dem's and stoking decent with their Twitter cabal and media any time the Dem caucus refuses to fully support their socialist wet dreams, I don't think the Dem nominee is going to be able to retreat from these wild eyed promises without bringing the progressive wing of the Dem party crashing down on them. Look at the wrath Pelosi and Schumer faced from this group moving the border funding package through. This group believes in ideology above all else and will not compromise on anything, regardless the harm it may do to their agenda and the Dem party as a whole. Bill Clinton moved to the left before moving back toward the center in his election(s), but there were two very different dynamics in play at that point. One, Clinton didn't veer that far left, and two, his entire caucus was in lock step behind him. Neither of those dynamics are in play today with the current Dem's. Again, I just don't see any way the Dem presidential nominee can walk back their insane socialist rhetoric without facing a meltdown of their own caucus. And if they can't find a way to successfully walk back that rhetoric, they will lose a large majority of independents who time and again have made clear they do not support socialism and open borders. I think they've really screwed the pooch this time. But then again, I believe this to be the lowest cumulative IQ congress in the history of the US. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. Big deal - you are forecasting disharmony and fireworks. I hope so, but having observed the hypocrisy that is liberalism exist and thrive, I’m afraid they’ll find a way to keep from blowing it up. A complicit media seems to be able to repair anything well enough to satisfy the dupes. Unity in hating all things Trump can overcome a lot of disagreement.

But always remember, independents may not like Trump, but they don't hate him either, and their votes are the key to any candidate winning in 2020. Most of the Dem's I know, though they loathe Trump, they really can't stand any of the Dem primary candidates and have already expressed their belief that none of them can beat Trump in 2020. If that's what Dem's are thinking, imagine the position of most independents who 'will' recognize the condition of the economy thanks to the efforts of this administration. Since I'm no political operative, I'm not "forecasting" anything. I'm simply offering my personal opinion based upon what I see around me. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. Every man should have several guns.
