So the new truck thing is in progress. $699 for a spray in bed liner. Is that the going cost? Seems high but, no recent experience.
Also would like some kind of protection for hitting a deer. Is the Westin HDX worth a $1100 installed price. Is there a better and cheaper option that is worth consideration?
Cannot spend $3K for a real bumper with incorporated grille guard unfortunately.
PHpaul recommended the no drill Weather Tech mud flaps.
Anything else I should be considering?

Spray Liner:
I paid about that [6-700ish] for a LineX liner in my short bed 2016 F150. Nearly 10 years ago, so I don't recall exactly

Coworker got quoted $450-500 for the same on his 2024 Colorado.

spray in bedliners ruin the truck imo, I would wait until all the paint is so scratched up it really wouldn't matter. I have a bed rug in mine but I have a topper so it makes it super nice to haul some things. plus the black spray in liners get sooo hot in the summer even with jeans on I can't stand being on them.

^ I had a dark gray F150, so the bed was hot either way. I don't think the LineX made much difference there.

I paid about 500 for my spray in liner 5 years ago.

Can’t speak on push bars

But the weather tech is the way to go. I cheaped out on a knock off brand and had to replace it w/I a year. Bit the bullet and the real weather tech floor mats that catch all the dirt haven’t cracked or torn since I got em over 4 years ago.

Husky X Contour are nicer than Weathertech's these days.

Weathertech mats are good but Husky's are better IMO.

I used to run right for the bed liner, drop in then spray. My last truck I backed off and just got a rubber floor mat. The worst I do is firewood a fair amount, the mat has been fine.

Since I have my dog rather often, an ARE cap is over the bed.

Agreed. Both fit well and wear well but the Husky's get the nod due to the surface texture.
Where I live in Georgia, we have red clay. When that gets on your mats, the Husky's(in my truck) have a shiny or smoother texture that cleans off much easier.
I have Weathertech's in my car that look real nice when new, but they have a sligh texture that seems to hold those red stains regardless how much scrubbing I do.

Yep. I always used Weathertech mats and liners but this time I bought the Husky's. Weathetechs are hard and the Husky's softer and grip your feet better.

I remember that being the consensus when I had my F150.
We have WT front to back in the Expedition & they're great, no warping or sagging like I'd read on the F150 forum about them.

Weathertech makes a bedliner, kind of like a giant floor mat. I put one in my Ram 1500 and really like, I don't haul that much so it's perfect for what I need.

I have a bed mat on one truck (93 F150), a bed liner on a 95 Silverado, and a bed cover on a 2012 GMC Sierra. Never had a spray-on liner.

My first choice is a bed cover but if I had to have an open bed then the bed mat would be my choice.

The WeatherTech bed liner looks like a good option product at less than a third of a spray in liner. I know it does not protect the sides but not really to worried about that.

See if you have a Bullet Liner dealer in your area, I have bought hundreds over the last 20 years, they hold up, no complaints at all. I pay about $400 for them

I just checked their website for dealers, useless. There are two I use within 15 miles of me

That would be cheap for a spray in around here. I agree that so far in my experience, Line X has been the best way to go. But it mostly comes down to the place doing the work. Prep and procedure is everything when it comes to bedliners.

I also agree with the mud flaps. Whatever you do...DO get front wheel mudflaps. I have regrets there that are going to cost me. I have a new set in the box...and I waited so long that I'm going to have to do some serious repair before I can install them now.

If you haven't looked into it...I'm extremely happy with my DiamondbackHD cover. Best purchase I've ever made for a pickup. I like it more than the Leer 122 I had on a previous.

I went with ARB for the bumper. I'm not sure what they cost as I paid for install, had several upgrades and lights at the same time, as well as a large heavy case winch installed. My all in price was around $7K if I remember correctly. I do tend to misremember though on numbers.

Husky front and back for the Super Duty. WeatherTech in everything else. As mentioned, the Husky mats are softer and because of that they lay better which means they fit nicer. The WeatherTech don’t fit along the edges as well. I’ve had them in the sun, put them back in and laid sandbags on them to try them tighter along the edges.

WeatherTech mud flaps are working well after 9 years on my F350. They’re staying on with a few screws missing even which I keep meaning to replace.

My truck had a drop in liner when I bought it, but I took that out when I installed the 5th wheel hitch. The bed’s been nekkid since. On the other hand, truck’s never seen snow or road salt. I paid $450 in 2001 for spray in on my Dakota, so $700 twenty-four years later for a real truck doesn’t seem out of line.
