Well, that's been a very busy period for you and, I'm sure, very fulfilling. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

it has been busy and will remain so through the holidays. CJ and Shawn are off to a good start. I am s sure I will see them sometime this weekend. They always seem to pop around when dinner is about ready. Albert stayed with a Cadet brother in NYS for thanksgiving. He said he had a blast. The next two weeks for both are all studying, completing projects for classes and finals.

It was a crazy holiday season. My parents were in town, as was my son. He arrived with bronchitis and picked up covid while here. He passed that to my wife and me. As we got better, we lost power for 6 days, and 5 days later were able t0 get our tankless water heater replaced. My parents took it in stride as did my son. Albert is back at NU, and doing well. Excellent grades, A's and one B+. Which are the same grades as his sister. The two still call me and tell me how awesome they are doing just to find out if they beat the other. He will likely remove himself from AFROTC due to a number of reasons related to the current military leadership and their playing politics with the military. He is looking at entering the Cadre with his 4th company or the battalion as a whole, with two majors, and that he will be pressed for time. My daughter and son and law are doing well. She is back in class this week remotely. Her school staggered the arrival times for its students due to omicron. Here we are the day after Christmas. Left to Right, Slade (my son in law's cousin), My son in law Shawn, My daughter Cj, My dad, Mother, My son Albert, My sweet cheeks wife, and my goofy ass. Edit, It has been a rough couple of weeks. My mother had a bout of food poisoning. With the kind of rheumatoid arthritis, she has her immune system is very comprimised. Her o2 levels were very low. When she went to the doctor she tester negative for covid 4 times, the last of those 4 test was a very detailed pcr. Her lungs are inflamed, her RA doc and pulmonary (?) Doc put their heads together. If it isnt covid, then it must be her RA attacking her lungs. Tonight after a severe coughing fit she decided to be intubated. This is a know procedure for drying out her lungs . My dad texted at 1 am, i got it at 2 am, she's now tested positive for covid. Shes been in the hospital for a good while. My dad gets tested tomorrow morning. He and i spoke on the phone for an hour last night. Our one saving grace was hat he could be there with her through this process. If her 2nd (6th) covid test comes back positive, or his, he will be unable to visit her. It is a kick in the pants all the way around. This month has been a series of ups and downs from one end of the spectrum to the other. This message has been edited. Last edited by: DSgrouse,
