Stopped in their shop in Fort Collins Co. I wasn't familiar with the brand. They build very nice (expensive) recliners and couches and such. Vey nice supple leather and woods. But ouch, the prices are sure up there.

Does anyone on here own any of their products, and if so, are they really worth the money? They do support my back better than just about any other recliner I've set in, that's for sure.

My wife and I have three recliners that we purchased in a relatively short period nearly 30 years ago. They are still in daily use. The leather on the most-used two is showing signs of stress in some areas, but I don’t believe it’s close to cracking. (I haven’t been as diligent about applying leather dressing as I should have been all these years.) They are still as comfortable as ever and there’s no indication or feeling that the padding is compressing or deteriorating.

I wouldn’t hesitate to buy them again.

I like the single recliners more than the couches. Make sure you get one that fits you. Width and depth. They can be very comfortable. 15 years and still looks new.

I’m unfamiliar with that brand

I recently ordered a leather couch from Wellington Leather out of Seattle area who contract with NC builders as that’s where the company originated

I’m pretty convinced it’s being made by Bradington-Young as the description, pictures, leather selection etc etc etc is exactly the same

I’ll know for sure end of April as it’s a 6-8 week process

I really like the Stressless lines. If I didn't already have an Eames, I'd likely own a Stressless

As konata88 said, it is important that you pick the line that fits your body.

Thanks guys. I think I'll grab my phone, some magazines, my Ipad, and go hang out for a few hours and see if my butt really can tell the difference in quality relaxing in some of those chairs.

Use an ottoman. And fully recline back by pulling the headrest forward as you recline back. Zzzzzzz.

Be absolutely sure they fit you. I love the look but I am long through the back and found they caused me distress after I was in it for more than 1/2 hour. Don't really know how to describe the issue but it became quite uncomfortable to me.

My wife bought me an original (chromed-steel frame) Stressless chair in 1983, I believe. It is no longer with us, but the Vegas model chair we bought in 2007 still is, and has given relief to my aching back ever since--in fact, we bought it specifically for that purpose. Currently my daughter is using it for her late-pregnancy back pain.
They come in a number of models, and each model is a different size; they also vary on the firmness/softness spectrum.

If I didn't already own a Stressless recliner, I would have bought one during my recent back problem episode.

You can find them on Craigslist for a lot less, but they are often badly worn and smelly.

Are they worth it? I would say for me the answer has been yes, twice yes.

BTW I've also had two knock-offs which were in no way as comfy as the original Stressless chairs.

Extremely comfortable. When I bought my first one I didn’t know they offer various levels of leather quality as options. That one eventually started to peel in places, which didn’t affect comfort or durability in the least but aesthetically it bothered me. Eventually, after many years, a bunch of teenagers piled onto it to take a photo and killed it. I had no qualms about getting another one and springing for better leather.

I have been watching Craigslist for a while and if one does not pop up that is suitable, I may bite the bullet and get one direct from the Ekornes dealer. I think it would be worth it.

I bought a Vegas about 20 years ago, and it is great, but the leather has begun to split in a few places. I have repaired by attaching a piece of fabric to the underside.
Extremely comfortable for my bad back.
We purchased another chair from an acquaintance in virtually unused condition, but it doesn't fit me as well as the Vegas.

I too have shopped for nice recliners. There were lots of recommendations from folks who had theirs for 10/15/20 years. The problems is that lately, even the better brands such as Lazy Boy, Lane, and others have outsourced many of their products, and are turning out garbage. I bought 2 Lanes, and not the bottom products, and both have broken and need replacement parts. If this company you speak of still makes a quality product, then it is certainly worth the money.
