That 75% or more of their fans won't get to watch the packers and lions play tomorrow
I know the vocal minority here hate the nfl. I get it. But many more love to watch football. And it sucks.

I feel bad for my elderly family and friends who really enjoy it.

Screw you Goodell!

I would love to see one of the drafted rookies punch the hug happy goodell in the face when going for one of his hugs. Telling him, "not me" while he is trying to pick himself off the deck.

I don't hate the NFL, I just don't watch it anymore. Way too political. Out of curiosity did they black out the game because of lack of attendance?

Even my flip phone toting tech adverse 85 year old father has Amazon Prime Video. I’m the one that set it up, but he knows how to get into the apps on his TV.

I find it hard to believe that SEVENTY-FIVE PERCENT of their fans won't get to watch that game. At least 75% of the people I know have Amazon Prime, maybe even 90%! I believe the VAST Majority of members here on SIGforum have Amazon Prime too.

Guess what I don't have though...Cable TV! Wink

The home still can televise the game on local channels.
Peacock Network is the real killer. Plenty of people have Amazon prime, Peacock?

I hate Amazon Prime Thursday night broadcasts. There is just something about their camera work I really don’t like.
I can’t even really explain it. I just don’t like it.

No different than when ESPN bought Monday Night Football. As a kid here in TX, MNF was always on terrestrial TV, I think channel 8. ESPN bought MNF, and I refuse to pay for ESPN because those Disney fucks own it. All they are doing is segmenting everything to 50 got damn different streaming services. It’s just out of control and we’ll be lucky to live through it Roll Eyes

What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

They are starting the same stuff with Phillies baseball games on Apple TV

I complained loudly until I signed up for a trial of Apple TV to watch a game and was blown away by the superior announcing, graphics, video, sound, and the fact that I could sync my local Philadelphia announcers from the radio feed seamlessly to the game.

Football is my thing and I have all the streaming options but I refuse to watch NFL on any streaming service.

Nope, not doing it. The NFL doesn’t care, they have already gotten paid, but when the streaming services don’t get the expected viewers they will reconsider the cost the next time the contract is up.

Why not? It’s never been easier for fans of any sport to get “the” game. We watched our nephews in Ohio play high school basketball. From his hospital bed, my dad and I watched my son compete in the state championship swim meet.

I have Prime for a variety of reasons so the game will be "on" but I will actually watch very little of it. If I hear the announcers get excited I'll look up from the laptop or my book to see what's going on and watch the replay. Amazon is going to start carrying more live sports. They are just testing the waters now. They have a Monday night NHL game that is only streamed in Canada right now. They invested heavily in the regional sports network Bally's owned by Diamond sports group. Now Bally's is called Fanduel sports network. Scripps is another platform a lot of NHL games are broadcasts on. Scripps in many areas is broadcast over the air. Las Vegas Golden Knights for instance broadcasts all their games ota in their area.

Word is Amazon will start streaming NHL and MLB regional games at an extra cost to your Prime service of course. I watch more NHL than anything because it runs all winter when I spend more time in the house with the tv on. Besides being the most entertaining sport it is the least woke. When the local NHL team is on ESPN I can't watch it even though I pay $20 a month for the Fanduel streaming app. It's annoying but I get over it in about two seconds. I invest no emotion into pro sports. If I can get it great if not I move on. If my team wins good for them. If they lose too bad for them. Streaming is the new way of how the world is going to get their sports viewing and it will be spread all over the streaming universe so get used to it. Most fans will pay anything to watch their sports especially their local teams. And the major sports leagues know it.

I buy Prime for the most basic reason; I order stuff & want it to show up at my door.

The fact my wife & I watch their stuff on TV is a side benefit.

Sure, there may be philosophical reasons I might eventually choose to reject them, but for now I'll take it.

I'm actually happy. I don't have any streaming services except prime. I've always had it for deliveries and the video/music are just bonuses.
