Looking for a Blackhawk Helicopter? Australia is selling 27.
LINK

"The Australian Defence Force is now officially inviting participation in a request for submission for the commercial sale of up to 27 Sikorsky S-70A-9 Black Hawk Helicopters and associated inventory.

Interested in adding an Australian Defence Force Sikorsky S-70A-9 Black Hawk Helicopter to your fleet?

Are you a Helicopter Wholesaler, VIP Charter Operator, Leasing Agent or Distributor?
Maybe you require a Search and Rescue or Medivac Helicopter, or perhaps you own a Restoration and Refurbishing business and the Australian Defence Force S-70A-9 Black Hawk is exactly what you or your buyer is looking for."

Those things are crazy expensive to operate, something like $4k per hour!

Interestingly, Australia has chosen the Boeing AH-64E Apache as its armed reconnaissance helicopter to replace the Airbus Tiger helicopters it currently flies in that role.

Does the main rotor of the Aussie version spin in the opposite direction of their Northern hemisphere counterparts?

Looks like they are replacing them with the Airbus/NHI NH90, that’s a disappointment for Lockheed/Sikorsky I’m sure:

Our sheriff had an opportunity to get a couple of Hueys “free” for his aero squadron through some state deal. There was a brief moment of excitement until he learned what it would cost to run them. I can only imagine the Blackhawks would be a *lot* more expensive.

Firehawk picked up some blackhawks to increase their presence a few years back. The picked up a middle eastern helicopter that had belonged to a princess. The interior was pink leather with gold fittings.

They took the interior out and put it in one of their ground support rigs; it was still there, last I saw.

The ozzies are a bit more conservative.

Sortof...these are pretty old -60's and the NH90 is definitely an upgrade. Their Navy continues to fly the -60R model as their aviation wing has a lot of interoperability aspects with the USN.
