Way Back - I think it was 1980 or 81 - I was looking at a beat up bring-back SKS in a pawn shop. I was handed the rifle, first thing I did was pull the bolt, and out popped a round, two more in the magazine. The blood drained out of the face of the guy behind the counter who had just handed a loaded gun to a stranger in his pawn shop.

A local range has a jar on the counter full of rounds that they have cleared out of their rental guns upon turn-in.

People wonder why we are so obsessive.

I still have that SKS, BTW. It's ugly, but shoots really well after I got it cleaned up.

CNN reported:
Sharp shooter with assault rifle holds entire mall hostage , subject in custody claims that there was an accidental discharge ,and no one was targeted.

But ! the clip from the rifle was still fully loaded, his computer history shows that he had read about bumpstocks.

no injuries reported but seven law enforcement divisions were on the scene and mental health experts will be arriving shortly to help with those affected.
