Thinking of A used Tundra with 80-115k miles. 2008-2014 or so. Tell me what I should know.
Thanks guys for all the input. The deal I was negotiating broke down as I came up on my cash offer and my truck. Got reasonable close but the dealer came up short and I went as far as I could. No biggie, was my first attempt and it told me quite a bit for future negotiation's that I may conduct on other Tundra's. I really like my 04' and it has barely over 100k miles so am not going to give it away to get a slightly new version. I know what a private party sale will get me. With that cash I know i could pick up a nice low mileage next generation Tundra. But if I can accomplish a similar outcome on a trade I would do it. Just need to find the right partner. If not I will keep it or sell it outright and repurchase what I want.

I am not aware of any over the counter oils that meet Toyota specs for 10k intervals. At least there are clones of Toyota’s red coolant.

Well I have a trade worked out on a 2010 Crewmax for my Gen 1 and cash. Have not seen in person yet. Obviously they have not seen mine either. So the deal is pending our approval. Deal in principle is hammered out. The 2010 has a clean carfax and is a nicely set up and low miles. Under 90k
Tow package Cold weather package New tires New windshield Power moonroof Power rear window Backup camera Premium JBL sound package TRD off road package to name some of its appointments.
If it is what it seems it is about the best deal I could get trading in my Gen 1. And would make me happy and give me a nice upgrade while not breaking the bank.

Deal is done. I am very pleased the dealer experience was good. The newer Tundra is a gem from what I can tell to this point. Even came with Airlyft suspension air bags that no one knew about. Who ever ends up with my Gen 1 Tundra is getting a low mileage gem too. Dealer made some $ as well. What is not to like.

Congrats! Sounds like a great upgrade!
I am impressed with how well the Tundra's hold up, my cousin's 2008 is like new yet.

Thanks guys. Mine is Graphite (black) The Crewmax has a 5' bed and a huge back seat. Yes Mark I do like the rear window. This one a a moonroof which is going to be pretty sweet. Has weathertech floor mats. It also has a retractable (manual) bed cover.

After looking at a few, picked up a 2013 Tundra mostly for the son to drive. Even though it spent all of it’s life in N. IL, the frame is remarkably clean, black, 79k miles.
It didn’t come with maintenance history, so I started a sampling. The rear differential fluid was looking good, changed it anyway. I pulled a spark plug, iridium, looking good.
Come warmer weather I may take the bed off, minor bed rust, then add some preservative to the frame itself.
