Who do you like online for purchasing your wetshaving products. I'm aware of Amazon, but I consider it a secondary source as I think they can pass counterfeit products easily, such as razor blade packs. I would rather trust a single source rather than Amazons "cheapest source of the week." I'm aware of West Coast Shaving but they no longer recognize my account and, well, I generally avoid doing business w/ Cally. (Yeah, I'm that guy that, when buying items, I take note of the state it's sold/shipped from.) They were always fast and I always recommended them but I wonder what my other options are. Thanks.

http://www.mikesnaturalsoaps.com I have recommended this soap a few times over the years here, it's the best I've found. Edited to add: given your location preference, this would be appropriate too. Based in MI.

Interested in what people suggest, I am currently using Art of Shaving products but since they are associated with P&C and Gillette, I want to get away from them

I've recently discovered these guys and really like the Lemon Chill Glacial soap and matching aftershave balm. I was always a Queen Charlotte soap guy but they closed last year and I had to find a new source for a good menthol based shave cream.

Woke up today.. Great day! |
Regarding shave cream, I have now converted to Cremo Cream after 35 years of using Barbasol. Last Christmas I gave it to all my family members and every one of them has switched now. While it is NOT foamy at all, it is the slickest stuff I have ever used for shaving. Phenomenal IMO.

Doing what I want, When I want, If I want! |
I use an antique Gillette safety razor (gold tone), WSP "Rustic Shaving Soap - Gaelic Tweed", Astra Superior Platinum double edge blades, and a Badger hair brush. The Astra blades are unbelievably smooth! I've figured out that shaving soap is sooooo much better protection then creams. But not all soaps are created the same. I've been ordering from Maggard. Very good people, and fast shipping! ******************************************** "On the other side of fear you will always find freedom"

You'll notice I mentioned them in my OP, because my account is gone. They don't recognize my email for resetting my password, thus the impetus behind finding other sources while I try to contact them.

^^ Well, for anyone else, it should be mentioned at least as they have a very large selection of products. ETA:I'll add this to list as I keep surfing. https://www.classicshaving.com/ https://shavenation.com/This message has been edited. Last edited by: dsiets,

Same with me. I also like Mike's Natural Soap, but he went through a spell when many of his soaps weren't available. The fish is mute, expressionless. The fish doesn't think because the fish knows everything.

A few decades of a few million wet shavers contradict at least some of this. Oil can be used but it's not ideal - no surfactant, absorbed easily. Some can shave dry, some use only water. But for the vast majority, over the last 100 years and more, soap has proven to be the ideal lubricant and cleanser. There are a few thousand varieties - canned foam is not at the top of the list. As with all things shaving, Your Mileage May Vary.
