Thus the metric system did not really catch on in the States, unless you count the increasing popularity of the nine-millimeter bullet.

Do you plan to sue because of the PTSD that you are now obviously suffering from after this trauma?

Q&A.... Glad you characters took this thread in the way I intended. Wink

You typed “black” instead of “block.” Hmmm.... Oops. Fixed. Simple typing error.

Why did you not stop sooner? Curbed highway with no shoulder or median to pull off on. Did not want to stop in traffic for both mine and officer safety.

Was there a "no left turn" sign or something? Yep, No Left Turn sign I apparently missed.

He also could have cited you for using your cellphone while driving. Never had it in my hand while driving (mounted in dash mount). Never was an issue.

Do you still have your wallet? Yep, its just $100 lighter.

Did he have the mirrored sunglasses with the mirrors on the inside? Nope, young guy sporting Oakley’s and a high and tight haircut.

Were you carrying, and did that come into play? Yes to carrying and no he never asked and I never shared.

What about the badge #..? Have no idea. When I pulled away from that stop, this was over as far as I was concerned.

Yes, but how did your dog fare and did you explain who pays his salary? Dog was not with me (which is truly the exception). I think he was well aware of who pays his salary.

What kind of footwear was he sporting? They appeared to be ass kicking boots, but I can’t be sure.

What is a ticket clinic? A group of lawyers who specifically handle traffic tickets for the people who get them. They have a pretty good record of getting tickets kicked if you have a good driving record.

You didn't create joinder? I doubt it.

Do you plan to sue because of the PTSD that you are now obviously suffering from after this trauma? Nope. Two Yuengling Lagers when I got home just about took care of it.

It’s probably a common infraction at that intersection so he sits there writing b.s. tickets all day. Normally I’m on the LEO’s side but I hate money grabs.

Similar thing happened to me, a couple years back. I posted about it here. In my case it was a "no right turn on red" I missed. And, yup: Cop was sitting the other side of the divided highway, just waiting for that one. No question. (They were over there, in the same spot, next time I made that turn. Coincidence? I think not.) Surprisingly, I survived my encounter, too.

Upon the advice of the township's clerk, I took it to the prosecutor, who converted it to a more expensive, but zero points, non-moving violation.

(The prosecutor was cute, too Smile.)

You could have halted the whole thing by telling the cop you were a sovereign citizen. I hear that works nearly every time!

Thank you, but agree probably BS. Lots of ticket “traps” in Mid/North Central FL from small towns, notorious today and even when I went to school in Gainesville a century ago. Everything from Speeding to hidden signs like you seem to have encountered, helps fund the local townships. Ticket clinic, best option for no points. But as you said, he is just doing the job given to him, and likely appreciated the cordial interaction.

You have no dog in the car.

That's why the officer didn't call for SWAT back up.

The last encounter I had with the police -- Sheriff Deputy, actually -- was a couple weeks ago.

It was pretty cool. He handed me a batch of .22 LR ammunition.

It was a karma, he is a member of SIGforum.

I'm not sure I followed the conclusion. Did you pay the ticket?

I've found that the penalty on anything that is a moving violation is just the start. The real kicker can be a mult year increase in insurance premiums.

I got a recent ticket and went ahead and had an attorney handle it. I'll save a lot of money on insurance.

Unfortunately, this is all a game set up to extract fines and fees for the Court and fees for lawyers - all funded because my insurance premiums will not go up.

I made a complete stop with the Gold Wing at a stop sign one day in Yuma, without putting a foot down. Yes, you can do that with a motorcycle. It's sort of a "California stop".

Cop right behind me pulled me over and advised me to put my foot down next time.

Got a verbal warning.

I gave the ticket, (and $100), to The Ticket Clinic, which is a group of attorneys who specialize in handling traffic citations. Given my driving record, they should be able to get this ticket kicked meaning no points assessed to me and no ticket fee (i.e. $170). Fingers crossed.
