Really enjoyed his work. Not sure anyone else could have played Apollo so well. He had some really good roles. Rocky, Predator, Action Jackson (ok maybe not so much), Happy Gilmore, Force 10 from Navarone. Always admired him. He just had that charisma.

I really got to no him as Apollo Creed when I was young. After Predator I started looking for more movies with him in them. The Defiant Ones and Force 10 From Navarone where some of my favorites.

RIP Sir. Enjoyed many of your movies.

What I remember is him in the original Rocky watching Rocky on the news punching the sides of beef and all of a sudden realizing he's breaking the ribs on it. Great actor.

It does begin to get surreal when you live long enough to loose all those people that have been there all your life.

When I told my wife this the other day she said "Awww, RIP Combat Carl."

That was a voice he did for a character in the Toy Story franchise.

He taught me how to get a stew going on Arrested Development while playing himself. A good sport, that, playing himself in something like AD. I bet they had a lot of fun.
