Yeah. That was disappointing. Spot on about the biscuits, though. And a "No self respecting Southerner would use instant grits" would have been amazing.

I do love a beautifully delivered "Bless your heart..."

"I vowed to myself to fight against evil more completely and more wholeheartedly than I ever did before. . . . That’s the only way to pay back part of that vast debt, to live up to and try to fulfill that tremendous obligation."

Alfred Hornik, Sunday, December 2, 1945 to his family, on his continuing duty to others for surviving WW II.

After growing up in the south, I sure miss the manners and ladies southern accents!! Every now and then, the GF catches me rewinding something on TV just to hear the female accent! Big Grin

The lady in NC who cut my hair last has just a hint of that sweet southern accent. I love listening to her talk.

My wife and I met a lady while hiking and camping on Cumberland Island National Seashore back in 1984...Paula from Jesup Georgia, who had the best southern accent in the world...she backpacked in to Stafford Beach campground with about 8 bottles of wine (in July with 100 plus temps no less)...she told us (say this with your best South Georgia "drawl")..."Honey, I hiked in with all this wine...and I ain't hiking out with anything other than the empty bottles"...she was a hoot! Razz
